Join Aprio’s Client Accoutning Services team and you will help clients maximize their opportunities. Aprio is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for an Accounting Associate to join their dynamic team.
We are seeking an Accounting Associate to join our Real Estate practice within the Professional Services team. This role is ideal for a professional with deep real estate accounting expertise and strong client service orientation. The successful candidate will support engagements, client relationships, and teams delivering high-quality accounting services.
Position Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain client general ledgers, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accurate financial records.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly close processes, including bank and account reconciliations, accruals, and prepaid/amortization schedules.
- Support the preparation of GAAP-based financial statements and client reporting packages.
- Perform day-to-day accounting activities within client systems, including QuickBooks, Xero, AppFolio, and BILL, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Support accounting for real estate entities, including property-level activity, lease-related transactions, and expense tracking.
- Collaborate with team members and clients to obtain required information, resolve discrepancies, and meet engagement deadlines.
- Follow established processes and controls, escalating issues as needed and contributing to process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree a plus.
- CPA preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in public or private accounting, preferably with real estate industry experience.
- Hands-on experience working within QuickBooks is required; experience with Xero and AppFolio is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
- Clear, professional communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and grow in a client‑facing environment
$60,000 - $75,000 a year
The salary range for this opportunity is stated above. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range.
