The Role

AXS is seeking a Product Reliability Engineer to troubleshoot, analyze, and fix known and unknown issues within the company’s various applications and databases.

What Will You Do?

  • Troubleshoot issues within the applications and databases and creates unique solutions to these issues, with guidance as needed, in responsive to customer’s request.
  • Work on various data requests for internal or external customers
  • Create scripts to update or create data as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments (finance, fraud, security, etc) to help get answers to issues or data needs
  • Create and update documentation for issues encountered
  • Coach more junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities.

What Will You Bring?

  • University degree in a computer science or technology field preferred.
  • Bilingual fluency (Japanese and English)
  • Experience with database query languages (i.e. SQL)
  • Experience working with database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server and PostgreSQL in a production environment
  • Experience with logging, monitoring and alerting tools and best practices
  • Experience coding in script languages such as JavaScript, bash, python etc. is preferred
  • Experience coding in programming languages such as Java or .Net is preferred
  • Experience working in cloud environments is preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure and in production environments
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to prioritize several tasks at once
  • Proficiency in identifying and diagnosing issues within operating systems
  • Capacity to create innovative solutions to unique system issues.
  • Willingness to work in our Tokyo office on a hybrid basis (3 days in office/two days working from home.)
