We at Coforge are hiring Position (21627) with the following skill set.
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Java Engineer with 8+ years of professional experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in banking or financial services environments, along with extensive experience handling critical production support for high-availability enterprise applications.
This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on Java development expertise, and the ability to work in mission-critical environments where stability, performance, and rapid issue resolution are essential. The candidate will collaborate closely with engineering, infrastructure, operations, and business teams to support and enhance complex financial systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, enhancement, and support of enterprise Java applications.
- Provide critical production support for high-priority financial systems and applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production incidents in a timely manner.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive solutions for recurring issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Infrastructure, DevOps, QA, Business Analysts, and Support teams.
- Drive technical discussions, architecture reviews, and best engineering practices.
- Monitor system performance, stability, and scalability across production environments.
- Participate in on-call rotations and support critical business operations when required.
- Lead and mentor engineering team members through code reviews and technical guidance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to system reliability, monitoring, and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory standards within financial environments.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience in Java software development.
- Strong experience working in banking, financial services, or highly regulated enterprise environments.
- Proven experience providing critical production support for enterprise applications.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and enterprise application development.
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Experience working with Linux/Unix environments.
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
- Experience troubleshooting performance, scalability, and stability issues in production systems.
- Strong understanding of incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis processes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as Git.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, mission-critical environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or JMS.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and operational support models.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
