Job Description
At NiCE, we don’t limit our challenges. We challenge our limits. Always. We’re ambitious. We’re game changers. And we play to win. We set the highest standards and execute beyond them. And if you’re like us, we can offer you the ultimate career opportunity that will light a fire within you.
So, what’s the role all about?
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our full-stack product engineering team. You will own end-to-end feature delivery — from backend services to frontend experiences and cloud infrastructure — and play a key role in shaping architecture decisions, mentoring peers, and driving engineering quality across the stack.
How will you make an impact?
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs in Java and Python
• Build and contribute to full-stack product features using Vue.js on the frontend, collaborating closely with frontend engineers and product managers
• Develop responsive, reusable, and scalable UI components in Vue.js, integrating seamlessly with backend APIs and microservices
• Architect and manage cloud-native solutions on AWS, leveraging services such as RDS and EKS (Kubernetes)
• Manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and scalability
• Own CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub, with Maven as the build toolchain
• Work with large-scale data using Apache Iceberg for table format management and data lake operations
• Participate in code reviews, define coding standards, and contribute to engineering best practices
• Collaborate with data and platform teams on shared infrastructure and tooling
• Proactively identify performance bottlenecks, tech debt, and reliability gaps, and drive resolution
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to improve engineering velocity and code quality
Have you got what it takes?
- 5–7 years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Java (Spring Boot or equivalent framework) and Python
• Hands-on experience with Vue.js, including component-based architecture, routing, state management and REST API integration
• Experience building and maintaining modern frontend applications using Vue.js, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with AWS — including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, and related services
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes for container orchestration and deployment management
• Experience with Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline setup and maintenance
• Proficiency with GitHub — branching strategies, PRs, code review workflows
• Experience with Maven for dependency management and build automation
• Working knowledge of Apache Iceberg or similar open table formats (Delta Lake, Hudi) for data lake architectures
• Strong understanding of relational databases via AWS RDS (PostgreSQL or MySQL preferred)
• Familiarity with microservices architecture, REST API design, and distributed systems principles
You will have an advantage if you also have:
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Exposure to message brokers such as Kafka or SQS/SNS
• Familiarity with observability tooling — Datadog, Grafana, OpenTelemetry
• Contributions to open-source projects or internal developer platforms
• Prior experience in a product-led engineering org with agile delivery practices
- We expect engineers at this level to actively use AI tooling as a force multiplier — for code generation, debugging, documentation, and exploratory prototyping. Comfort with tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar is expected. Experience integrating LLM-based features into products is a strong plus.
