Summary:

The Senior Director of Software Development will provide leadership and technical expertise within our dynamic Technology Department. The ideal candidate will have a proven record in software development, team management, and driving innovation. You will manage a team of skilled leaders, lead all aspects of software projects, and play a major role in the department’s technical vision and direction.

This is a hybrid role that will work onsite 2 days per week at our Buffalo Grove, IL office. Occasional travel may be required as part of this position.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic and technical leadership across multiple software development teams.

• Establish and implement software development best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes to ensure robust and reliable software solutions.

• Mentor, coach, and develop engineering leaders and managers to grow technical and leadership capabilities within the organization.

• Supervise and analyze metrics to assess performance and drive continuous improvement.

• Define and complete the software development strategy in alignment with Onbe’s goals.

• Pursue constant improvement & transformation in architecture & availability of the platform.

• Lead engineering goals towards improving velocity & quality with AI transformation

Qualifications:

• 10 years in leading software development teams and delivering sophisticated software projects.

• Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development, architecture, and design.

• Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to empower and encourage technical teams.

• Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and provide a high level of attention to detail.

• Strong experience in digital transformation converting monolithic into microservice architectures in medium to large scale organization

• Strong experience and passion for utilizing AI in every aspect of SDLC to improve the velocity & quality of development.

The base salary range for this position is between $185,000 to $205,000 with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, business needs, and market demand.
