Job Title: IT Manager (Remote)

Duration: Fulltime

Overview:

We are seeking a driven and professional IT Manager to lead the technology operations of a newly combined service company built through four recent acquisitions. This role will be the company’s first dedicated IT leader and will be responsible for consolidating and optimizing IT infrastructure and vendor partnerships across all business units.

Reporting to the CFO and supported by the PE firm’s IT leadership, the IT Manager will serve as the primary point of accountability for IT. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with strong business relationship skills and technical grounding to grow into a senior IT leader as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • IT Vendor Oversight & Optimization
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for managed service providers (MSPs) supporting infrastructure, end-user computing, applications, and security.
    • With support from PE company, negotiate and manage vendor contracts to improve service quality and reduce costs.
    • Monitor service delivery, ensuring accountability and performance metrics are met.
  • Technology Roadmap & Governance
    • Develop, communicate, and execute the IT roadmap aligned with company strategy.
    • Establish IT processes, policies, and procedures to standardize operations across the newly integrated organization.
    • Partner with leadership to prioritize and deliver IT initiatives.
  • Infrastructure, Security & Project Management
    • Oversee infrastructure health across servers, storage, networks, firewalls, and cloud services.
    • Ensure cybersecurity practices are embedded in daily operations and vendor management.
    • Lead efforts to consolidate email, collaboration, and infrastructure environments following acquisitions.
  • End User & Business Application Support
    • Provide escalation support for end-user technology needs (primarily via MSPs).
    • Ensure effective support for business applications, including ERP and industry-specific systems.
    • Promote user training, adoption, and satisfaction.
  • Leadership & Relationship Management
    • Act as a trusted partner to the executive team and a liaison between IT and business stakeholders.
    • Build strong relationships across the organization, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and clear communication.
    • Provide leadership in integrating acquired companies into standard Microsoft infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in End User Support or related IT roles.
  • Broad working knowledge of infrastructure domains (servers, storage, networking, firewalls, IT security).
  • Experience managing or collaborating with MSPs and holding vendors accountable.
  • Demonstrated success integrating acquired companies into a standardized Microsoft email and infrastructure environment.
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Proven ability to establish credibility with executives and staff at all levels.
  • High integrity, maturity, and professionalism, with a strong drive to advance career into senior IT leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel monthly to company locations across the western U.S.
