Position Summary:

The Sales Compensation Analyst plays a key role in supporting a fast-paced, high-growth organization by managing and optimizing compensation programs that attract, motivate, and retain top talent. This role is both analytical and operational — ensuring accurate commission payouts, supporting incentive plan design, and maintaining data integrity across multiple systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a collaborative environment, and enjoys working cross-functionally to deliver scalable, data-driven solutions that fuel business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Commission Administration: Own the end-to-end commission process from collecting and validating sales data to calculating payouts and reconciling discrepancies. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of all commission payments in partnership with Sales Operations, Finance, and Payroll.
  • Commission Plan Implementation & Optimization: Support the design, modeling, and rollout of commission and incentive plans that align with company goals. Run what-if analyses, test payout models, and provide feedback on plan effectiveness and cost impact.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Develop and maintain regular commission and incentive reports for sales leadership and Finance. Provide insights on plan performance, attainment trends, and potential risks or anomalies.
  • System & Process Management: Maintain data integrity across HRIS, CRM, and commission management tools. Identify process gaps and recommend automation or system improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales Operations, Finance, HR, and IT to ensure smooth execution of commission cycles and resolve data or policy issues quickly.
  • Policy & Documentation: Maintain accurate commission plan documents, payout guidelines, and process documentation. Ensure plans are clearly communicated and consistently applied across all teams.
  • Audit & Compliance: Conduct regular audits of commission calculations and data inputs to ensure compliance with plan terms and internal controls. Support internal and external audit reviews as needed.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis & Support: Respond to leader and employee inquiries regarding commissions, plan details, and payments. Provide analytical support for new incentive initiatives or territory realignments.
  • Market Analysis & Pay Benchmarking: Conduct market pricing reviews to ensure pay practices are competitive and consistent. Provide recommendations for compensation structures that support scalability and growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Analytics, or a related field required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in commission analysis, sales operations, or financial analysis — preferably in a high-growth or sales-driven organization.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, data modeling).
  • Experience with CRM or commission tools
  • Proficiency in HRIS, payroll, or ERP systems (e.g., UKG, Workday, ADP, etc.).
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a keen eye for accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to interpret complex sales data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining plan details and results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities, tight deadlines, and changing business needs.
  • Proactive problem-solver who takes ownership of deliverables and continuously looks for process improvements.

The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.
