The Solution Architect Engineer (SA) is an integral member of the Skillsoft’s Presales organization.  The role is responsible for supporting the sales cycle of new business and key renewal opportunities by partnering with Skillsoft Sales team and working with customers to solve complex customer challenges by leveraging deep product and industry knowledge to build innovative and compelling solutions that directly address the customers needs.   The SA Role will support discovery, sales strategy, solution fit, configuring and performing solution demonstrations, managing pilots, setting appropriate expectations during the sales cycle, and supporting other processes in the sales cycle as appropriate.

Acting as strategic advisors, they dive deep into the customer’s “Why,” challenging assumptions and aligning solutions to measurable outcomes. With clarity and impact, they communicate the usability, scalability, and business value of Skillsoft’s offerings to key stakeholders.

Superior knowledge in presales methodology, the Talent & Development or eLearning space is preferred.

OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver high-impact pre-sales support by articulating the value of Skillsoft’s solution (platform and interactive learning experiences), designing and executing engaging demos, evaluations, and pilot programs that align with customer goals.

  • Research and understand each prospect’s business context to tailor pre-sales activities—such as demos and discovery sessions—to their specific challenges and strategic objectives.

  • Conduct discovery sessions to uncover customer needs, pain points, and desired outcomes, and use these insights to craft personalized solution presentations.

  • Leverage Agentic AI capabilities to enhance the efficiency and precision of discovery, demo preparation, and solution customization.

  • Maintain deep competitive intelligence to strategically position Skillsoft’s strengths during demos, evaluations, and RFP responses.

  • Act as the “solution captain” for SA-led opportunities, ensuring demo plans are executed effectively and internal resources engaged at the right stages.

  • Lead structured pilot programs, including site setup, configuration, kickoff, engagement strategies, monitoring, and outcome analytics.

  • Influence buying decisions through value-based selling, clearly connecting Skillsoft’s capabilities to measurable business outcomes.

  • Develop a strong understanding of the technical architecture of Skillsoft’s solutions and how they integrate into broader HR and talent ecosystems.

  • Demonstrate familiarity with common integration methods such as SAML SSO, REST APIs, and eLearning standards like SCORM, AICC, and xAPI (Learning Record Stores).

  • Collaborate with Account Executives in regular planning sessions to identify strategic ways to advance key opportunities through the sales cycle.

  • Create and maintain demo recordings, presentations, and other digital assets to support customer engagements and scale pre-sales efforts.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency and customer experience.

  • Stay current with Skillsoft’s evolving product offerings—including platform features, content updates, and integration capabilities—through ongoing training and enablement.

  • Accurately document key prospect activities and opportunity progress in Skillsoft’s CRM system to ensure visibility and alignment across teams.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience in a Pre-sales or Solutions Consultant role
  • Experience in Talent Development Platform Solutions or other Enterprise Level Software
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, education or related field; or equivalent experience
  • This is a Field based role with 25-35% travel

SKILLS

  • Sales Consultancy Skills - incorporates selling mindset into consultative approach in order to achieve goals.
  • Experience in presales or related role
  • Video creation and editing skills using Consensus or similar tools
  • Polished presentation and demonstration skills with a high degree of comfort speaking in large or small groups with executives, IT Management, and stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to right level conversations
  • Strong questioning and listen skills to complete discovery calls
  • Ability to conduct demonstrations of Skillsoft’s offering, both in a virtual or face-to-face situation, by leveraging listening, questioning, and storytelling skills; ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Understanding of common integration techniques such as SSO, APIs, xAPIs

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, education or related field; or equivalent experience
  • Pre-Sales Certifications
  • Experience using Salesforce
