Job Description

Are you ready to shape the future of sustainability ratings and cultivate a team of architectural masters? We’re searching for a Head of Solution Architecture who embodies both bold vision and an unwavering commitment to empowering others. This pivotal role is for a leader who can not only foresee the next technological frontier but also guide and inspire our engineers to reach it.

Our Technology and Platform Services department designs and secures the platform that underpins all of our offerings, achieving scalability and continuous improvement through innovation and collaboration. You will be the guiding force, shaping our technical landscape while fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Define the Future: Directly contribute to the conceptual envisioning, design & development of a unique, software platform that has defined and drives the overall direction of the sustainability ratings sector – pushing boundaries and exploring uncharted technological territories.

  • Strategic Innovation: Lead the charge in investigating the latest technologies and building quick Proof of Concept functionalities to proactively address future business needs and keep us at the forefront of innovation. Define and maintain a bold architecture roadmap, crafting technical solutions for new and existing functionality that anticipate market shifts and future possibilities.

  • Empower and Coach: In a highly collaborative environment, you’ll not just participate in brainstorming new ideas, but actively mentor and guide your team through prototyping & continuously validating them against ever-changing market reality – empowering them to drive platform evolution in completely new ways that couldn’t have been predicted up-front.

  • Architectural Guidance & Mentorship: Deliver exceptional architectural services, including providing clear guidance and conceptual design, while also acting as a trusted advisor and coach to developers, helping them to generate and maintain code according to agreed standards and best practices.

  • Business Partnership: Serve as a visionary liaison, proactively engaging with business stakeholders to translate their evolving requirements into groundbreaking, efficient architectural solutions that pave the way for future success.

  • Continuous Improvement Champion: Champion continuous improvement by preparing, improving, and introducing new approaches, methodologies, tools, and techniques, coaching the department through adoption and integration. Lead architectural reviews not just for compliance, but as a coaching opportunity, providing constructive feedback and fostering a culture of excellence in software technical blueprints.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Senior Architect or Lead/Chief Architect role.

  • Excellent knowledge of all aspects of the software engineering process, including Coding, Testing, Deployment, Scalability, Security, Maintainability.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft stack (.Net, .Net Core, Web API, SQL Server, Azure).

  • Extensive experience in defining and enforcing architectural patterns (SOA, CQRS, Event Sourcing etc.), coupled with the ability to educate and elevate the team’s understanding and application of these critical concepts.

  • Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining microservices architectures, with a deep understanding of best practices, design patterns, and principles for highly decoupled and scalable systems, and a commitment to mentoring and upskilling teams in these areas.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply strategies for efficient communication, data consistency, and resilience across microservices, including experience with API design, message-based communication, and event-driven architectures.

  • Very good knowledge in NoSQL such as CosmosDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, ElasticSearch, for either data persistence and/or caching.

  • Vast experience in API Management (routing, gateways, versioning) with profound understanding of API Development aspects.

  • Solid experience in implementing observability, monitoring, and logging solutions to effectively track system performance, diagnose issues, and ensure the health and stability of our SaaS applications, with knowledge of popular tools and frameworks for these purposes.

  • Extensive experience in Front-End, including frameworks (Angular, React/Redux etc.), patterns (MV*), understanding the client’s point of view on performance aspects.

  • Experience in working with global and regional projects, virtual expert teams, appreciating local differences and adapting to differences in cultures.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in English.

Offer only for candidates based in Spain or Poland.

Location: Hybrid in Barcelona (4 times a month in the office) / Remote from Spain
