Job description

Description

We have two FP&A positions available, each with similar qualifications but different scopes. Please take a moment to review both and apply to the one that aligns best with your interests.

Who We Are

Great Minds is a high-growth, mission-driven organization founded by educators in 2007. As a for-profit, Public Benefit Corporation, we believe all students deserve access to meaningful, challenging content—and all teachers deserve tools that are intuitive, effective, and built for the realities of today’s classrooms.

We develop high-quality, knowledge-rich math, science and ELA curricula grounded in research and designed in collaboration with educators. Our materials reflect real classroom needs and are built to drive lasting student outcomes.

We are committed to usability, coherence, and practical implementation—supporting teachers not just through curriculum, but with professional learning, purposeful technology, and responsive service that enable strong adoption and impact.

What We Build

Our products— Eureka Math and Eureka Math², Wit & Wisdom, PhD Science, Geodes, and the newly launched Arts & Letters ELA—are trusted by thousands of schools and districts nationwide.

  • Eureka Math is the most widely used math curriculum in the U.S., and is focused on balancing conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and application.

  • Wit & Wisdom® and Arts & Letters ELA™ anchor our reading strategy with content-rich, grade-level instruction that integrates literature, history, and the arts, grounded in the science of reading. Geodes® complements our reading suite with decodable texts that pair phonics with meaningful content to support early literacy.

  • PhD Science is a hands-on K-5 Science program that sparks curiosity as students build enduring knowledge of how the scientific world works.

These programs reflect a shared belief in high expectations, joyful rigor, and deep respect for educators and students.

Where We’re Headed

Great Minds is entering a new stage of growth and product maturity. We are focused on building more connected, customer-informed experiences across the full educator journey—from curriculum to professional learning to platform and support.

Our long-term vision is to become a true partner in impact—not just delivering curriculum, but supporting educators in achieving outcomes at scale.

Job Purpose

Finance business partners empower financially sound planning and decision making throughout the organization. You will enable decision makers to make sound financial decisions more independently by leveraging tools, forecasting models and reports to simplify FP&A analysis into easily digestible business logic. Leaders will also rely on you as a sought-after thought-partner for strategic decisions and for insights that help achieve performance targets and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop FP&A acumen with leaders through hands-on, real-time decision support:

    1. Deliver hands-on coaching to help decision makers apply FP&A thinking in real-time business decisions.

    2. Communicate insights clearly through visuals and storytelling to drive alignment and action.

    3. Challenge assumptions through structured problem-solving and root cause analysis to introduce a finance lens.

    4. Train stakeholders on value-driver trees to connect operational decisions to enterprise value.

    5. Boost financial data literacy by translating complex models into plain business language and supporting real-time learning.

  2. Assess and anticipate decision makers’ needs:

    3. Drive fast, iterative improvements through ongoing feedback and direct engagement.

  3. Provide in-depth, highly personalized decision support to executive decision makers:

    1. Help executives determine where to relentlessly triage to drive enterprise value or mitigate risk

    2. Monitor leading indicators to identify initiative delivery risks and operational performance gaps, drive action or provide alternative approaches.

  4. Provide direct FP&A support to decision makers:

    1. Drive key conversations during the budgeting process, engage in budget pressure-testing, providing FP&A expertise to ensure stakeholders understand potential risks and constraints.

    2. Help stakeholders create business cases, outlining their benefits, costs, and risks; and provide recommendations to secure adequate funding and approval.

    3. Assist in identifying performance issues and provide help in course-correcting (gap-to-goal adjustments).

  5. Equip leaders will tooling, reporting and dashboards that enable evidence-based decision making.

    1. Work with technology teams to ensure that decision support tools provide actionable advice for a variety of operational and strategic decisions.

    2. Be the “voice of the internal customer” in meetings with FP&A and technology teams to help design intuitive reports, analyses, and dashboards that meet the needs of non executive decision makers.

  6. Drive decision maker adoption of decision support tools:

    1. Embed decision support tools that meet stakeholders where they are—tailoring functionality, language, and value stories to build trust and drive adoption.
