Requirements
- Experience working with research data in biological sciences or related fields
- Well versed in commonly used research tools and analysis software (like RStudio, MatLab etc.)
- Strong computer skills (MS Office or equivalent open source alternatives, Google Suite, Text Editor, and so on)
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills, as well as the ability to identify and correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining high-quality results
- Excellent time management and organizational skills. The data curator should be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Be a team player and work well with other curators
- High level of professionalism focused on providing excellent customer service to the authors
Responsibilities
- Evaluate metadata and data files to comply with prescribed guidelines
- Liaise with authors to ensure datasets comply with data-sharing standards
- Ensure the highest standards of quality of the research data submitted
- Track progress across all curation stages
- Work with the curation team to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets
- Participate in curation triage meetings with the curation team
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and assist with implementation
