Where and how you can work
Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work, we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.
What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that’s all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you’ll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
- Partner with leaders across Canva to maximise business impact through technology solutions and products delivered through the teams within Tech Experience Group
- Lead and mentor teams across multiple technology disciplines, fostering a culture of engineering excellence
- Define an agile technical strategy that unlocks innovative capabilities (e.g. AI & automation) to teams across Canva
- Influence other groups and teams within and outside of IT towards IT best practices that are fit for purpose for Canva’s culture and roadmap
- Successfully own defining IT transformation strategies and cohesively delivering across internal teams with IT resources & budget
- Drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement for efficient IT operations & service delivery while enabling teams across Canva to deliver services seamlessly on IT’s solutions and products
- Manage the corporate technology budget and vendor relationships, maximising the value of our investments across Tech Experience
You’re probably a match if you have
- Demonstrated deep and diverse IT experience with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams across multiple IT domains
- A strong understanding of technology systems, modern tools and infrastructure fundamentals, enabling you to partner effectively across IT and Infra teams
- Proven success in leveraging AI and/or automation to push the boundaries of enterprise IT solutions
- Demonstrated experience & solid understanding of IT service management, enterprise architecture, IT delivery, and change management—ideally within a tech-led, hybrid organisation
- You thrive when navigating ambiguity and complexity, with a passion for shaping scalable internal experiences that support global growth
- Experience in establishing and communicating strategic and operational IT metrics to executive stakeholders
- Skill in managing significant technology budgets and vendor relationships
- Background in leading technology strategies and integrations for mergers and acquisitions
- Values-led leadership who leads by example, promotes a no-blame culture, and champions Canva’s engineering values
About the group
The Technology Experience group has ~50 Canvanauts and sits within our Information Technology Supergroup and is on a mission maximise every Canvanaut’s impact through redefining technology & service. From building secure and seamless internal platforms to driving scalable systems engineering practices, this team ensures our internal tech stack is as magical as the Canva product itself.
About the role
As the Global Head of Technology Experience, you’ll lead teams across Internal AI Solutions, Global Tech Support, Productivity Systems, and Internal Applications, to continuously deliver business outcomes and impact internally at Canva. You’ll define a clear vision and strategies that evolve our internal business operations, accelerate productivity across Canva via integrated services, solutions, and products owned in the Tech Experience Group. You will lead Canva to be the the market leader in adoption & innovation for automation & AI across all internal teams.
