Cybersecurity Operations Apprentice

This is an onsite or hybrid opportunity in Richmond, VA. About this Position
We’re seeking a cybersecurity apprentice to support a team of engineers through hands-on system checks, data review, and basic security-related tasks. This role offers exposure to system operations, cybersecurity fundamentals, and engineering workflows. It’s designed for an early-career learner who is coachable, curious, and eager to develop technical and professional skills in a supportive environment.
Job Responsibilities
• Assist with basic system monitoring and vulnerability checks
• Review system data, logs, and records for inconsistencies
• Support simple scripting tasks for reporting or data cleanup (Python)
• Contribute to small projects and follow-up tasks with guidance
• Participate in meetings to learn engineering workflows and processes
Job Skills/Requirements
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Coachable, curious, and willing to learn new concepts
• Ability to work independently with regular check-ins
• Interest in systems, cybersecurity, data, or engineering operations
• No prior technical experience required
