About the role
We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Customs and Excise Tax Specialist to join our growing tax team in the Global Solution Center (GSC) in Szczecin. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with customs and excise tax regulations and supporting our international supply chain operations. You will work closely with our headquarters based in Düsseldorf, Germany and you will be responsible for reviewing documentation, tax filings, and product classifications.
Job Description
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Support in analyzing tax processes and review of tax documentation, including tariff classification of goods and determination of origin in accordance with relevant customs regulations
Playing a key role in the process of collecting and verifying the necessary information for proper settlement of customs, ensuring proper circulation of documents and archiving data
Create delivery notes for alcohol shipments under the reimbursement procedure to customers in other EU member states
Track and ensure completion of ARC numbers for alcohol shipments
Prepare tax returns and reimbursement applications for coffee, sparkling wine, and alcohol
Map tax confirmations to corresponding shipments
Review and validate product classifications assigned in the Combined Nomenclature (CN) to ensure accuracy and compliance
Monitor tax landscape changes with respect to customs and excise tax
Participate in customs-related projects, including implementation of tax technology solutions to automate the compliance process
Create and update procedures for existing and new customs processes
Qualifications
Skill set & experience profile:
Fluent in English. Knowledge of Polish and/or German will be a plus
Minimum 1-2 years of professional experience in a similar role in customs operations or tax compliance, preferably in an international environment
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as Finance, Taxation, Law, Transport or Logistics) is preferred
Strong knowledge of EU customs regulations and excise tax procedures
Experience with customs documentation and product classification (CN codes)
Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational abilities
MS office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
