Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Settlement Officer to join our settlement team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the settlement of financial transactions, providing strategic direction and leadership for the entire settlement function.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all transactions and resolve complex discrepancies and issues during the settlement process.
  • Lead the reconciliation of accounts and maintain accurate transaction records, including oversight of all reconciliation activities.
  • Coordinate with other financial institutions and external parties for smooth settlement, serving as the primary point of contact for settlement-related interactions.
  • Uphold compliance with banking regulations and internal policies, providing expert guidance and support on regulatory matters.
  • Identify and implement high-level process improvements for enhanced efficiency and accuracy within the settlement function, working closely with senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and leadership to junior and mid-level team members involved in the settlement process.
  • Acts as the Team Leader backup in case of need for projects follow-up, controls performance and declaration, oversights presentation and others.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance or related field.
  • More than 5 years of experience in a financial role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Good knowledge of English, both written and verbal. French is a plus.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Conditional Formatting, advanced formulas). VBA is a plus.
