Job Summary
The Senior Frontend Engineer will be a pivotal member of the engineering team, responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of sophisticated, scalable, and high-performance user interfaces for our client platform. This role involves not only hands-on development but also providing technical leadership, mentoring junior developers, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to define and deliver exceptional user experiences. You will be instrumental in driving frontend strategy, ensuring the adoption of best practices, and tackling complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Frontend Development: Architect, design, develop, and maintain complex, scalable, and responsive Angular Material-based web applications.
- Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and code review feedback to mid-level and junior developers, fostering a culture of high quality and continuous improvement.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, backend engineers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements and design mockups into fully functional, high-quality user interfaces.
- Architectural Design: Drive frontend architectural decisions, evaluate and recommend new technologies, and ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
- Feature Development & Enhancement: Lead the development of new user-facing features for our platform, ensuring they are functional, accessible, and visually appealing.
- Platform Modernization: Contribute to the redesign and refactoring of existing features for a site refresh, focusing on improving performance, maintainability, and user experience.
- Code Quality & Best Practices: Establish and enforce frontend coding standards, best practices, and testing strategies (including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing).
- Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks, ensuring fast load times and a smooth user experience.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5-7+ years of professional frontend development experience, with a strong focus on Angular/Angular Material.
- Deep understanding of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3 (including SASS/LESS).
- Proven experience with modern Angular versions, TypeScript, RxJS, and NgRx or similar state management libraries.
- Strong experience in writing comprehensive unit tests (e.g., Jasmine, Karma) and conducting thorough code reviews.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
- Experience with frontend build tools (e.g., Webpack, Angular CLI).
- Familiarity with version control systems.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Demonstrated experience leading frontend projects and mentoring other developers.
- Agile Methodologies: Proficient in working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Architectural Thinking: Ability to think critically about system architecture and design scalable and maintainable frontend solutions.
