General Description:

Implementation & Training Services helps new and existing clients successfully onboard and launch with D2L products.

As a Change Management Consultant, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients at any point during their Brightspace journey, including implementation and adoption. You’ll lead change management strategy development, stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and training enablement with clients from across industry segments. Your goal is to ensure clients not only adopt our platform, but fully embrace the transformation it enables across their organization. To ensure success as a Change Management Consultant, you should have sound knowledge of change management best practices, especially with regards to technology adoption.

HOW WILL I MAKE AN IMPACT?

Consulting services

  • Support transitions to (and growth of) the online learning platform that align with client goals, timelines and constraints, driving value to clients
  • Develop organizational readiness and change management plans, creating targeted strategies and materials that align with client goals, organizational structures, and implementation timelines to ensure successful enablement, launch and adoption
  • Design communication plans to drive user engagement and adoption, with clear, empathetic, and persuasive messaging to address fears, misconceptions, or resistance to change
  • Develop and track KPIs to assess change effectiveness through the engagement of key stakeholders, leveraging tools such as workshops and interviews
  • Provide recommendations based on qualitative and quantitative data to further enhance change success.
  • Support clients in developing ongoing engagement strategies such as Communities of Practice

Account Strategy

  • Work closely with account managers to help clients define solutions
  • Act as a client champion, sharing feedback internally to help shape the product and future client experiences
  • Collaborate with training teams to develop customized learning paths
  • Identify adoption barriers and work collaboratively with Customer Success, Product, and Implementation teams to overcome them
  • Assist in risk identification and mitigation

Sales Support

  • Support and participate in sales and go to market activities
  • Demonstrate thought leadership regarding change management within and outside of D2L, through resources like blog posts and whitepapers, and engagement in webinars and conferences

Process Improvement

  • Contribute to the development of change management best practices, toolkits, and resources
  • Recommend and assist with the implementation of process enhancements to better meet the needs of our clients

Enablement and Upskilling

  • Document methods and practices demonstrating the value and approaches of change management
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge on current practices and emerging trends in change management, especially with regards to technology adoption and the EdTech space
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of professional education organization standards
  • Share your knowledge across D2L to upskill other team members

Please Note: This is a client billable role. This means that each week you will be required to fill out a timesheet for time spent against each client engagement as well as time spent on internal initiatives. The majority of your time will be spent on customer work.

  • Anticipate challenges and respond with creative, actionable solutions
  • Navigate and respect the unique norms and values of different organizations

Skills:

  • Bilingual (English / French / Spanish) is an asset
  • Change management principles and methodologies (e.g., ADKAR®, Prosci®)
  • Stakeholder analysis & engagement planning
  • Organizational readiness assessments

  • Training & enablement design
  • User adoption metrics & KPI definition
  • Workshop facilitation (virtual and in-person)
  • Project management basics (e.g., managing timelines, dependencies, deliverables)
  • Data analysis & reporting (basic skills to interpret adoption data and feedback)

Work Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in change management, ideally within a SaaS or enterprise software environment
  • Experience with SaaS platform implementations or enterprise software rollouts
  • Industry experience in EdTech is a bonus
  • Familiarity with EdTech Tools is an asset (e.g., LMS, SIS, digital curriculum platforms)
  • Proven experience leading client-facing transformation or adoption initiatives, ideally in a SaaS or enterprise software environment
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing change management strategies, including stakeholder engagement, communication planning, training design, and adoption measurement
  • Hands-on experience facilitating workshops, stakeholder interviews, and readiness assessments with cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments with teams such as Implementation, Product, Customer Success, and Training

Education

  • Master’s Degree or Doctorate preferred, ideally in Business, Psychology, Organizational Development or related field
  • Change management certification (i.e. PROSCI® or ADKAR®)

The expected base salary range for a new hire in this role is listed below. The annualized base salary offered is determined by each candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, training and experience. It is aligned to ensure both internal and external competitiveness using market data for the geographic location and industry. As part of the total compensation at D2L the role may be eligible for additional benefits including a Wellness Subsidy, Equity Grants, Variable Incentive, and more.

Base Salary Range

$109,500—$129,000 CAD
