Job Summary:

The Data Analyst helps organizations better understand their data and needs through skilled requirements engineering, define and implement key metrics, query and analyze data directly with SQL to extract key insights and opportunities, and build best-in-class dashboards and reports using third-party tools such as Power BI or open-source JS libraries.  This is a customer-facing role within a cross-functional team so the ability to manage timelines, work both autonomously and collaboratively, and communicate effectively are a must. As this position will help to support federal contracts with security requirements, you must be a US Citizen to qualify.

Responsibilities:

  • Be an expertise in gathering actionable requirements and executing against them in an agile environment
  • Define and develop metrics that quantify operational health and excellence for different organizations and initiatives
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses of data using SQL and BI tools to identify trends and insights
  • Build dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, and/or JS
  • Maintain and enhance the integrity and reliability of internal and external data sources. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to capture additional data and ensure data accuracy and consistency
  • Regularly prepare reports and presentations that summarize findings, provide actionable insights, and track the effectiveness of implemented strategies
  • Compellingly present findings to drive change and growth

Skills you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL
  • 3+ years of experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker
  • Intermediate coding skills in Python and JS
  • Advanced understanding of database structures, query optimizations, ETL development
  • Experience working in cloud infrastructures
  • Experienced with data orchestration tools like Airflow, transformation frameworks like dbt, and cloud deployment tools like Terraform.
  • Demonstrated exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • The ability to work effectively across functions, levels and disciplines.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Superior team-working skills, and a desire to learn, contribute, and explore.
  • Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Kafka, Flume, Spark, or Flink is a plus
