As an Application Systems Developer II at Summit Funding, youβll be at the heart of the action β coding, debugging, testing, and fine-tuning our business applications. Your creativity and skills will directly shape how our systems run, making them faster, more efficient, and more user-friendly. You’ll work hand-in-hand with teams across the company, transforming business needs into innovative tech solutions that drive our success. This position reports out of the Sacramento Corporate Office but is offered as hybrid-remote or remote depending on experience and location.
The salary offered is dependent on location and experience but ranges from $118k - $146k annually.
What you would be doing:
- Design and build scalable microservices and modernize legacy systems to align with enterprise architecture and compliance standards.
- Develop full-stack applications using technologies such as Deno, TypeScript, React, Next.js, and JavaScript.
- Integrate with internal and external platforms using RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and OAuth 2.0.
- Write modular, reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform to provision Azure environments.
- Implement robust observability using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Define and implement CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket Pipelines, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards across the team.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party tools and APIs for data movement and reporting pipelines.
- Perform performance tuning, testing, and root cause analysis of production issues.
- Champion secure coding practices and compliance with regulatory standards such as SOC 2 and GLBA.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Create and maintain documentation, including process and data flow diagrams.
- Provide support for deployment, enhancements, and hotfixes in production systems.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- 4-7+ years of professional experience in application development.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Any object-oriented programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, Python, or .NET)
- React, Next.js, Vite, TypeScript, JavaScript
- Node.js, Deno, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, OAuth 2.0
- Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Cloud
- Bitbucket Pipelines, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD tooling
- Familiarity with secure application design in regulated environments.
- Experience with financial systems or mortgage technology is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve unfamiliar technical issues.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a distributed team environment.
- Adaptability to shifting priorities and fast-paced development cycles.
