Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work — we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that’s all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you’ll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

• Leading a multidisciplinary team of frontend and backend engineers to scale intelligent, contextual help and search experiences

• Shaping and executing technical strategies that reduce contact rate and boost user satisfaction

• Coaching engineers to grow in their craft, delivery, and impact

• Collaborating with Product, Design and Data to evolve in-product help and discoverability experiences

• Championing engineering excellence while staying hands-on when needed to unblock or guide the team

• Setting the strategic direction and technical vision for user help infrastructure and search discovery experiences.

• Ensuring your team delivers robust, scalable software — from backend services to UI components.

You’re probably a match if:

• You’re a pragmatic, hands-on technical leader who thrives on solving meaningful user problems at scale

• You bring deep experience in building and scaling fullstack systems—ideally with Java, Typescript, GraphQL, and AWS

• You bring deep technical knowledge — ideally with experience across service architecture, search systems, or knowledge bases.

• You’re energised by leading through change and ambiguity, and shaping team direction collaboratively

• You care deeply about growing people, fostering a high-performing team culture, and building inclusive environments

• You love solving complex problems at scale and unlocking opportunities through data and user insights.

• You’re familiar with or excited to learn about search relevance, ML-driven content discovery, or CMS platforms (nice to have)

About the team

The Help Content & Findability team lives within the User Voice supergroup—our mission is to empower every user and make every voice heard. We’re building systems that get users to the right help, fast. From intelligent in-product support to a smarter help search engine, we’re creating seamless experiences so Canvanauts can stay in flow and focus on what they love: designing.
