About the Role
As a Staff Fullstack Software Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader on Blackpoint’s Integrations Team, helping to shape and scale the ecosystem around our CompassOne platform. In this role, you’ll lead the development of new integrations with key third-party systems, such as cybersecurity platforms, cloud service providers, IT management tools, and business productivity tools—ensuring we can support strategic partnerships, technical alliances, and competitive parity in the cybersecurity space.
You will work closely with other engineering leaders, including architecture, platform, and UX design teams, to ensure high technical quality and long-term maintainability of our solutions. You’ll also engage directly with customers, vendors, and partners to understand integration requirements and gather feedback. As a Staff Engineer, you will mentor and guide engineers on the team, drive architectural decisions, and continue to solve complex technical challenges, ensuring the team delivers high-impact integrations that accelerate growth and adoption of Blackpoint’s CompassOne platform and ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Integration Initiative Lead – Guide the design, development, and delivery of third-party integrations to realize Blackpoint’s integration product roadmap.
Integration Development & Maintenance – Build and maintain integrations with third-party platforms, including RESTful APIs, webhooks, and data pipelines that support strategic and technical alliances. Develop secure, scalable, and maintainable backend and frontend code using TypeScript, React, Kubernetes, and Kakfa.
Cross-Functional Architecture Design – Collaborate with architecture, data platform, UX design, and other Blackpoint teams to ensure integration implementations align with overall platform architecture and are robust, secure, and scalable.
Code Quality & Delivery – Lead by example in writing clean, testable code and driving high-quality pull requests and peer reviews.
Testing Strategy & Execution – Assist team members in developing comprehensive test strategies, including API-level and end-to-end tests, to ensure integration reliability and correctness.
Integration Observability & Reliability – Establish best practices for logging, monitoring, and incident response across the integrations portfolio.
Deployment & Support Readiness – Support deployment processes and assist with on-call or incident response related to integrations when needed.
Customer & Partner Engagement – Work directly with customers and partners to gather technical requirements and validate integration solutions.
Continuous Innovation – Evaluate emerging integration technologies and patterns to continuously improve team velocity and product capabilities.
AI-Driven Integration Acceleration – Identify, evaluate, and implement AI-powered tools and practices that enhance integration development, testing, delivery, and observability. Champion the responsible use of AI to automate routine tasks, improve development workflows, and boost integration reliability and team productivity.
Mentorship & Technical Guidance – Coach and support other engineers on integration design patterns, coding best practices, and scalable architecture.
Requirements
10+ years of industry experience in full-stack development, with demonstrated expertise in delivering scalable, high-performance systems in fast-paced, enterprise-level environments.
Proficiency in front-end technologies such as React, Typescript, and a solid understanding of modern front-end architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
Strong backend development skills with Node.js, including experience building and maintaining microservices architectures on Kubernetes.
Expertise in designing and consuming APIs (REST, GraphQL, and webhooks), with a focus on creating secure, scalable, and high-performance services.
Proven ability to architect fullstack solutions, balancing performance and scalability from the database layer to the UI.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, or similar), automating testing, deployment, and scaling of services.
Strong understanding of database design, performance tuning, and indexing of both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., Elasticsearch) databases.
A deep understanding of security best practices, especially in fullstack environments, such as securing APIs, handling sensitive data, and managing authentication/authorization (OAuth, JWT).
Strong desire to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment with multiple releases a day.
Experience working in an Agile development environment, with the ability to lead sprint planning, break down large initiatives, and align team efforts with business objectives.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proven track record of diagnosing complex issues, devising effective solutions, and implementing innovative approaches to overcome technical challenges.
Nice to have
Expertise in security best practices, including penetration testing and vulnerability assessment, to safeguard applications against potential threats.
Experience with internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) frameworks, enabling global reach and tailored user experiences for diverse markets.
