*This role is a hybrid role, working part-time from our Escondido, CA office and part-time from the road with clients or at a home office when necessary. Applicants must be able to commute to the office in 92025 at least four days per month*

*This role is recommended for applicants in Riverside, Inland Empire, San Diego, Los Angeles or similar as commute to San Diego is required several times a month and clients that will be serviced are located in these areas.*

The Risk and Safety Consultant will lead client relations in servicing our growing client list, as well as working toward expanding our client base. This full-time position is responsible for providing occupational safety and risk control services and guidance to reduce workplace injury risk and client risk profile while ensuring customer satisfaction. Our diverse client list includes contractors, industrial facilities, large and small manufacturing, office environments, and more.

Duties:

  • Conducts occupational safety & risk assessments and physical surveys at client locations;
  • Assists clients in development of employee and supervisory safety training;
  • Develops technical reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Works independently to provide on-site safety & risk management support;
  • Communicates with clients and people of varying levels of professionalism, education, etc.
  • Understands your clients’ safety needs, exposures and build relationships;
  • Helps develop and implement health and safety programs;
  • Analyzes injury data and produce meaningful reports and recommendations;
  • Plans and organizes service requests to meet target dates and production goals;
  • Other duties as required and/or assigned by management.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree or the equivalent in a related field strongly preferred;
  • Safety-related designation preferred (CSP, ASP, ARM, CIH, CHST, etc.);
  • 5 years of related experience in the field of Safety and Loss Control preferred.

Computer Skills:

  • Must be competent and proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.

Other Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates in-depth safety / risk management related knowledge and skill;
  • Attends pertinent and productive safety seminars and/or safety courses that expand on current knowledge;
  • Stays current with Federal OSHA and State Plan regulations and standards;
  • Familiar with workersโ€™ compensation insurance and claims
  • Demonstrates, anticipates, and solves practical problems and resolves issues;
  • Possesses the knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic;
  • Maintains attention to detail, good proofreading skills, excellent reliability, initiative and stress tolerance;
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels;
  • Follows instructions in verbal and written format;
  • Demonstrates good judgment and foresight, moral character, honesty, tact, fairness, lack of prejudice and desire to help when dealing with people;
  • Learns, understands and applies new technologies;
  • Performs with a professional appearance and excellent customer service skills;
  • Conforms to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
  • Maintains willingness to travel when necessary;
  • Has and maintains a clean driving record;
  • Exhibits attention to detail, good proofreading skills, excellent reliability, initiative and stress tolerance.

  • Frequent walking, including on uneven surfaces
  • Occasional climbing of stairs and ladders

Salary Range: Exempt, $75,000 - $95,000 annually
