HOW WE WORK

The ALU Team works in starkly different ways to traditional academic bureaucracies. We approach education from first principles, empower individuals to design, test, and implement creative new ideas, and work closely together to craft transformative learning experiences. We are deeply passionate about our students and excited by the challenge of building something entirely new.

The African Leadership University is committed to ensuring the safety and Well-being of all students under our care. As part of this commitment , we have a comprehensive safeguarding policy in place , which outlines our Zero-tolerance approach to any violation of safeguarding.

The Team

The Postgraduate Recruitment Representative will be part of a collaborative, continent-wide recruitment team and will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer. You will also work closely with the Dean of the ALU School of Business to ensure alignment between our enrolment efforts and the school’s strategic vision.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Postgraduate Recruitment Representative, you’ll play a critical role in driving fee-paying enrolments into ALU School of Business’s MBA programme. You’ll operate as a commercial lead — not just an executor — with full ownership of your pipeline, targets, and market approach.

This role requires a proactive, entrepreneurial professional who can work independently, think strategically, and make data-driven decisions to convert leads into enrolled students. You must have a deep understanding of the MBA programme, our value proposition, and how we differentiate from competitors in the executive education landscape.

You’ll report to the Chief Marketing Officer and collaborate closely with the Dean of the School of Business, but you will be expected to lead and problem-solve autonomously, with strong ownership over performance and outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategic Lead Generation & Pipeline Ownership

  • Design and execute lead generation strategies tailored to different markets and customer profiles.
  • Own the entire recruitment funnel — from identifying high-potential prospects to converting them into enrolled, fee-paying students.
  • Continuously build and manage a strong pipeline of leads through referrals, corporate relationships, and outbound outreach.

2. Market Knowledge & Product Mastery

  • Develop deep knowledge of the MBA programme — its content, delivery model, faculty, value proposition, and outcomes.
  • Build a strong understanding of the competitive landscape in Africa and globally, positioning ALUSB clearly and persuasively in conversations.
  • Bring insights from prospects, corporate partners, and the broader market to inform recruitment strategy and messaging.

3. Commercial & Target-Driven Execution

  • Work towards clearly defined performance targets for lead generation, applications, and enrolments.
  • Own your performance metrics and course-correct quickly when needed.
  • Take a results-oriented approach to outreach, engagement, and conversion — always with commercial outcomes in mind.

4. Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with corporate partners, postgraduate associations, education agents, and key influencers.
  • Represent ALU at events, webinars, and workshops, both virtually and in person, as the lead voice of the MBA programme.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to prospective students, supporting them from first touch through to enrolment.

5. Communication & Reporting

  • Manage all key communications throughout the student recruitment journey — including personalised outreach, newsletters, webinars, and calls.
  • Track and analyse pipeline performance using CRM tools; share insights regularly with internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports and proposals for prospective partners or internal planning.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s degree (Desired)
  • Fluency in English and French (Desired)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in account management or recruitment experience, B2C sales, or a similar field
  • Experience using a CRM
  • An iterative mindset (the ability to take an idea, test it, learn from it, make the call to ‘use it or lose it’)
  • Experience making data-driven decisions and managing pipeline data
  • An uncanny ability for quick solution hacks
  • The ability to pick up new skills with agility

Location :  Remote, with intensive travel.
