We are seeking a Power Strategy SME to guide and optimize energy strategies across our data center and infrastructure projects. This role requires deep technical expertise in mechanical or electrical engineering—with practical experience in gas turbines, utilities, and site generation planning—to support both our Site Delivery and OR/CM (Owner’s Rep/Construction Management) pillars, as well as strategic procurement initiatives.

What you’ll do…

  • Serve as the go-to technical expert for all things power generation, distribution, and backup systems across data center projects.
  • Develop and execute site-level power strategies, including temporary and permanent power solutions, fuel-based generation systems, utility coordination, and contingency planning.
  • Collaborate closely with construction managers, site engineers, procurement, and external vendors to ensure alignment of power systems with project timelines and performance expectations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise during design review, value engineering, and equipment selection (e.g., turbines, generators, switchgear).
  • Partner with Procurement on technical evaluations, bid package development, and vendor negotiations for power-related scopes.
  • Support QA/QC and commissioning processes to ensure system performance aligns with functional specs and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to site power readiness and power-up milestones across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Travel to active sites to oversee execution and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

You should have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; advanced degree or certifications preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in power generation, utility coordination, or energy strategy, preferably in industrial or mission-critical environments (e.g., GE, utilities, large EPC firms).
  • Demonstrated experience with gas turbines, standby power systems, and site electrical infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of data center or large-scale infrastructure development cycles and construction delivery models.
  • Skilled in technical problem-solving, cross-discipline coordination, and stakeholder communications.
