Job description

Mindoula is a next-generation population health management company that identifies, engages, and serves populations with complex behavioral health, medical, and social challenges across the continuum of care. By using technology to “scale the human connection,” Mindoula helps health plans, health systems, hospitals, and provider groups extend their reach and achieve value-based service delivery goals.

Mindoula is incubating a new program designed to address the needs of our partner’s members and we are looking for an entrepreneurial clinician to lead our clinical care delivery and interdisciplinary teams as the program goes from 0 to 1.

As the Clinical Lead for the new program, you will play a pivotal role in driving clinical excellence and ensuring the successful integration of multidisciplinary care teams. Working closely with the Program Operations Director and VP, New Initiatives, you will develop and implement evidence-based clinical workflows, oversee program quality metrics, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide care and enhance member outcomes. This role requires a balance of clinical expertise, leadership, and strategic execution to refine and scale the new venture effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical Program Design & Implementation:

  • Lead the development and execution of evidence-based clinical workflows.
  • Provide clinical oversight and guidance to ensure high-quality, person-centered care delivery.
  • Work closely with the Operations Director to ensure that clinical and operational workflows are aligned for optimal efficiency and outcomes.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to inform and refine clinical protocols, interventions, and program enhancements.

Interdisciplinary Team Leadership & Training:

  • Serve as the clinical dyad partner to the Operations Director, collaborating on program execution and strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct appointments and provide direct care to patients and actively review patient cases to guide the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to other healthcare professionals within the program.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure staff competency in new venture-specific clinical protocols, interventions, and best practices.
  • In partnership with Care Operations Director, lead recruitment, onboarding, and continuous development of the clinical workforce.

Quality & Performance Improvement:

  • Oversee development and achievement of clinical quality metrics, outcome tracking, and performance improvement initiatives to ensure the program meets and exceeds established benchmarks.
  • Partner with the data and analytics team to define SMART clinical metrics and identify opportunities for care model optimization.
  • Implement evidence-based measurement tools to assess clinical efficacy and member progress.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards, including Medicaid, Medicare, and value-based care requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the primary clinical liaison between the new venture and internal/external stakeholders, including health plans, providers, and community organizations.
  • Collaborate with medical, technology, and data teams to enhance clinical workflows, digital tools, and member engagement strategies.
  • Work with managed care organizations (MCOs) to align clinical interventions with contractual performance metrics (SLAs, KPIs, quality measures).

Scaling & Expansion of the Program:

  • Assist in the development of a scalable clinical model that can be replicated across multiple markets and populations.
  • Document lessons learned from pilot phases to inform future program adaptations and market-specific customizations.

Education & Work Experience:

  • MD/DO degree with board certification in Psychiatry is required.
  • Dual board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine preferred.
  • Must be comfortable providing medical services and able to obtain and maintain licensure and credentialing across target markets, with support from Mindoula’s licensing and credentialing team.
  • Active clinical licensure in one or more states where Mindoula operates.
  • Experience with populations living with SMI / SPMI, and proven ability to develop clinical program to address this population’s needs.
  • 5+ years of experience in behavioral health, integrated care, or population health management.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a clinical program, overseeing interdisciplinary teams and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working with managed care organizations (MCOs) and understanding of value-based care models, performance metrics, and healthcare reimbursement strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience launching or scaling clinical programs in healthcare settings.

Skills Required:

  • Strong clinical acumen with the ability to translate data-driven insights into actionable clinical improvements.
  • Expertise in integrated behavioral and physical healthcare.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in healthcare technology systems, including electronic health records (EHR), care management platforms, and analytics dashboards.
  • Deep understanding of SDoH interventions, care coordination models, and community-based resources.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on clinical execution in a fast-paced environment.

Physical & Other Requirements:
