Job description
Hi there!
We’re Sweed, a product-driven startup building an all-in-one cannabis retail platform. We’re on the lookout for a Senior QA Engineer to join our team remotely and help us scale and optimize our platform.
About Us
At Sweed, we’re reimagining how cannabis retailers operate. Our enterprise-grade platform combines POS, eCommerce, Marketing, Analytics and Inventory Management into a single, seamless solution—eliminating the need for multiple third-party tools.
We believe in simplicity, efficiency, and innovation. That’s why we build for scalability and performance, making life easier for cannabis retailers while driving real business growth.
Why We’re Doing This
At Sweed, we believe in the medicinal potential of cannabis. It has been shown to help with chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and many other conditions. Despite the lingering stigma, we see cannabis as a powerful tool for improving lives.
The industry is evolving rapidly, and we’re here to drive that transformation—making cannabis retail more efficient, accessible, and customer-friendly.
Where We Are Now
We’ve been on the market for 6 years, continuously growing and refining our product. Our focus is on earning customer trust, which means constantly improving our delivery processes and rolling out new features. At the same time, we navigate the complex legal landscape of the cannabis industry, ensuring our platform remains compliant and future-proof.
What You’ll Be Working On
Collaborate closely with the development team, product managers, and designers to understand requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing, to validate complex functionality, edge cases, and user scenarios.
Identify, document, and track defects using issue tracking systems, and work closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
Continuously improve the QA process by proposing and implementing best practices, tools, and methodologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on quality goals, testing timelines, and release plans.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software testing and quality assurance.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience (3+ years) as a QA engineer or in a similar role, with a focus on manual testing of complex software products.
Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes, with hands-on experience in manual testing.
Experience in backend, frontend and e2e testing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to think critically and identify potential risks and areas of improvement.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Independent and self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and a drive for continuous learning and improvement.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver high-quality results.
Experience with test automation frameworks and tools is a plus.
Knowledge of performance testing, security testing, or other specialized testing areas is a plus.
Experience with mobile testing will be a plus.
What Else Matters?
Proactivity – We love team members who take initiative and provide feedback
