Our Evidence Synthesis and Decision Modeling team is seeking a Senior Director to join our group of industry-leading professionals. You’ll contribute to systematic literature review, meta-analysis, and indirect treatment comparison projects that demonstrate and communicate the value of new interventions for our pharma and biotech clients.

About You:

  • You are an experienced health economics and outcomes research consultant with expert understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, medical affairs, and requirements for health technology assessment, evidenced by a track record of relevant publications.
  • You have sufficient understanding of relevant methods to be able to oversee studies including, but not limited to, systematic literature reviews (clinical, economic, and/or health-related quality of life) and indirect treatment comparisons (e.g., NMA, MAIC, STC etc.)
  • You can clearly explain the rationale, methods/results, and strategy for complex studies to project teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • You have a robust understanding of the strengths and limitations of alternative approaches and propose applications/solutions of new or existing methods tailored to specific research questions.

About the Role:

  • Deliverable Creation: Review and sign off on deliverables including protocols, statistical analysis plans, technical reports, and slides. Identify necessary deviations from templates to ensure content aligns with objectives.
  • Strategic Direction: Contribute to short-term resourcing discussions as well as long-term strategic planning in conjunction with other senior leaders. Responsible for development/maintenance of one or more processes required for the effective operation of the research team (e.g., onboarding, training, templates etc.)
  • Project Management: Lead multiple projects and responsible for ensuring overall quality; develop recommendations based on expected impact, communicate risks and opportunities to ensure staff alignment, and assume the role of final decision-maker able to overturn decisions and take accountability for outcomes. Accountable for timely delivery and financial performance across projects.
  • Client Management: Provide final sign-off on update slides/minutes and actions for overall study; own relationships with clients and viewed as subject matter expert. Act as advisor on client calls and responses to emails. Proactively manage client expectations and work with team members to implement strategies to problem solve on a client or project-basis.
  • Line Management/ Team Development: Create development plans and act as a mentor for direct reports. Support team members to effectively communicate within and across teams, resolve conflicts tactfully, and stimulate morale. Develop strategy for broader team development and recruitment.
  • Business Development: Provide methodological/subject matter input to and sign off on proposals and presentation content. Lead meetings related to new business. Align business and team development goals and proactively identify new business opportunities which fit the broader strategy.

Minimum Required:

  • Master’s degree in a subject related to health services research e.g., health economics, public policy, health policy, epidemiology, biostatistics, or public health.
  • 10 to 12 years experience serving biotech, pharmaceutical or healthcare clients, with a focus on health economics and outcomes research.
  • Willingness and desire to learn and share knowledge.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in R and BUGS/JAGS/Stan advantageous
  • Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a diverse team.
  • Pays attention to detail and performs quality checks of own work and that of others.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Highly developed reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Awareness and understanding of financial performance on projects.
  • Ability to line-manage and mentor direct and indirect reports and ensure positive staff wellbeing/team dynamic.

Other Required:

  • May require travel domestically and/or internationally including overnight stays.

This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Precision, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance and disability benefits, parental leave, and paid time off for sick leave and vacation, among other benefits.

$165,000—$235,000 USD
