Overview of the Role

  • The Senior Sales Development Manager - West will be responsible for executing key tactical tasks that ensure consistent communication, promotional planning, foundational sales operations, and data support for the client’s business across both internal and external stakeholders. This role provides executional backbone support to SDM Leads in the Central regions, enabling operational excellence, speed, and accuracy across all facets of the business.
  • Fully remote but must be located in the Central Region
  • Salary range $85,000 - $95,000 depending on experience, qualifications and skills
  • Travel Requirements: 5-10% to attend client sales meetings and any major Industry shows and events at which assigned key accounts will be present

What You’ll Do at C.A. Fortune

  • Client-Facing Support
    • Assist with national and regional growth strategy execution under SDM leadership.
    • Support communications on pricing, promotions, innovation, discontinuations, and brand updates to the sales teams.
    • Coordinate, prepare, submit and track materials for category reviews, including slotting approvals, promotional planners, sample coordination, and insights support.
    • Maintain client’s CA Fortune SharePoint with current pricing, promotion, innovation, and discontinuation documents.
    • Coordinate distributor communication regarding item setup, pricing changes, and new DC openings.
  • Administrative Support
    • Manage and upload brand sell sheets and images into the CA Fortune site, including pricing and guardrails by BU.
    • Build and maintain planner templates for brands and for UNFI and KeHE, adjusting as needed.
    • Create and manage show assets, including sell sheets, images, show deals, allowances, and bound playbooks.
    • Drive cadence for Distributor/Wholesaler Reporting:
      • UNFI Conventional:
        • Client’s item list (quarterly)
        • Shipment/movement reports (monthly) — retailer specific and store group level.
        • Promo effectiveness tool pulls.
    • Client’s Pricing Workbooks for UNFI Natural, Conventional, KeHE, C&S:
      • Maintain files aligned with client’s guardrails and trade spend to enable Account Managers to react quickly and gain approvals.
  • AFS Support
    • Conduct cadence pulls and reporting for top retail customers and wholesalers/distributors:
    • Field SIP gross-to-net reports (monthly).
    • BU Connect Scorecards (monthly).
    • Sales LE cases vs. YA priority brands.
  • Insights Support
    • Maintain and pull Wholesaler Scorecards (quarterly), including:
      • Distribution gaps vs. competition on priority brands.
      • Everyday base price vs. key promo price — identify gaps, drive strategy recommendations.
    • Analyze client’s priority brands:
      • Who is driving category trends.
      • Where client’s falls vs. competition and total category.
    • Assist in building Category Review Shell Decks by priority BU:
      • Streamline process to curate and layer insights efficiently
    • Provide insights and trends on the overall client’s portfolio of business:
      • Consider breaking analysis by BU where feasible.
      • Manage Natural and Conventional channels as required.
  • Reporting & Data Support
    • Manage insights requests: AIP, Distributor Dashboards, BIR, PPA, void reports.
    • Track and consolidate sales wins, losses, and discontinuations from the field.
    • Share CA and market updates (Turnlink orders, state of industry trends).
    • Analyze sales and promotional data to support plan creation and recommendations.
  • Internal Execution & Admin
    • Funnel updates from client’s into internal CA systems: pricing, innovation, discontinuations, allocations.
    • Maintain Salesforce accuracy: client coverage, categories, commission rates.
    • Update and manage selling decks, one-pagers, and outdated materials.
    • Maintain Sales Toolkit and Channel Execution Matrix.
    • Assist with Turnlink orders and special project support
    • Collaborate with account teams on custom growth plans and risk management.

What You Should Bring to the Table

  • 5+ years of Consumer-Packaged Goods or related industry experience
  • Excellent communication & organization
  • Demonstrate sales planning, forecasting and sales execution experience
  • Strong comfort level with reading, interpreting and presentation data – SPINS, Nielsen & IRI
  • Aptitude to effectively interpret and use multiple information sources to develop customer-specific tactical plans and options
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong, effective relationships with customers and functional groups
  • Ability and confidence presenting to an executive audience, internally and externally
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

You Will Stand Out if You Have

  • A Bachelor’s Degree
  • Previous experience with syndicated data – SPINS, Nielsen & IRI
