Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior SQL Developer/Data Engineer to join our expanding data team. This role is ideal for professionals with strong SQL development expertise, hands-on experience with AWS data services, and proficiency in Power BI. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing data solutions that support business intelligence, analytics, and operational reporting across the organization of this customer.
You will collaborate daily basis with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, build scalable pipelines, and deliver actionable insights.
Responsibilities and Duties
Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures to support business and application requirements;
Build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and integration across multiple systems;
Collaborate with analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver efficient, scalable solutions;
Leverage AWS services (e.g., Redshift, Glue, S3, Lambda) to build cloud-native data workflows;
Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making;
Monitor and improve database performance through indexing, query tuning, and execution plan analysis;
Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all data assets.
Essential Skills
Experience in SQL development and data engineering roles;
Expert-level proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries, views, functions, and stored procedures;
Strong understanding of relational database concepts, normalization, and indexing;
Hands-on experience with major RDBMS platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle;
Experience with ETL tools such as SSIS, Talend, or custom scripting;
Proficiency in AWS data services (e.g., Redshift, Glue, S3, Lambda).
Highly Desirable Skills
Experience with Power BI for data visualization and dashboard development;
Familiarity with data modeling techniques (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas);
Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for data manipulation;
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git);
Exposure to data governance, data cataloging, and metadata management tools.
