Job Title: SEO Backend Specialist
Location: Remote
Work Shift: 9 AM – 6 PM ET
Working Hours: 40 hours per week/Full-time
Job Description:
We’re looking for a highly detail-oriented SEO Backend Specialist to support our growing eCommerce business. This role is ideal for someone who thrives behind the scenes, is fluent in technical SEO and Shopify, and understands how to optimize Shopify stores for organic growth that drives conversions and revenue—not just traffic.
You won’t be running ads — your focus will be on on-page SEO, technical changes, bulk optimization, and content improvements. You’ll also work closely with our internal team, so excellent communication and fluent English are a must.
Key Responsibilities:
On-Page SEO & Keyword Research
- Conduct keyword research for product, collection, and blog pages, focusing on conversion-driven and revenue-generating keywords
- Strategically implement keywords across on-page elements (H1, title tags, meta descriptions, etc.) in Shopify
Technical SEO
- Manage and implement redirects within Shopify or using Shopify-compatible apps
- Pull and analyze SEO audits from tools like Google Search Console and SEMRush
- Collaborate on resolving technical issues impacting performance
Bulk Page Optimization
- Use (or learn to use) Matrixify to make mass changes to SEO-related fields across product, collection, and blog pages
- Maintain accuracy and structure when editing content in bulk
Blog SEO Support
- Audit existing blog content for SEO opportunities
- Optimize keyword placement within content
- Copy and paste blog content into Shopify backend, ensuring proper formatting and metadata
AI Tool Utilization
- Familiarity with ChatGPT, Claude, or similar tools
- Ability to craft and refine prompts to generate or enhance SEO content
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of SEO experience with eCommerce websites, with a strong focus on conversion-oriented strategies
- Strong experience working with Shopify, including backend page editing
- Skilled in keyword research and implementation for product and collection pages, prioritizing keywords that drive sales
- Familiarity with technical SEO tasks, including redirects and site audits
- Comfortable using tools like Google Search Console and SEMRush
- Excellent attention to detail and highly organized workflow
- Experience working with US-based businesses or teams
- Ability to work independently and communicate progress proactively
Nice to Haves:
- Experience using Matrixify or similar tools for bulk editing in Shopify
- Familiarity with blog SEO: keyword audits, formatting, and basic copy management
- Understanding of on-page SEO elements (H1s, meta titles/descriptions, internal linking, etc.)
- Experience with AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Jasper, etc., for SEO content generation and automation
- Knowledge of Shopify SEO apps like Plug In SEO, SEO Manager, or equivalent
- Basic HTML/CSS knowledge (for formatting blog posts or troubleshooting tags)
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration with content or dev teams
- Comfortable in fast-paced, detail-driven environments with tight turnaround times
