Job Description
You will be joining our team located in Zürich belonging to Water & Environment Switzerland managed by Thomas Morgenthaler. This Unit has currently approximately 90 employees in Switzerland and is looking to build up a solid team in Poland for further growth and support and to strengthen our activities to protect the aquatic environment. Main focus for us are projects related to the design of wastewater treatment plants mainly in Switzerland and adjacent European countries.
You key responsibilities are:
Design of civil work structures such as tanks, basins, pumping stations, service buildings for domestic wastewater treatment plants (predominantly designed with reinforced concrete)
Basic sizing given by process engineers; afterwards responsible design work and information collection from machinery and electromechanical equipment as well as from HVAC and EMCR to design a facility that fits to the process and to common rules of design in wastewater treatment (for example German DWA).
The design process follows several stages according to Swiss SIA and or German HOAI (Project basis, feasibility study, pre-design, basic engineering design, authority approval design, submission and proposal phase, detailed design
Design of civil works structures according to BIM methodology together with BIM modelers
Participation in internal / external meetings and video conferences
Regular reporting to Project Managers
Qualifications
Must have:
Knowledge of structural engineering with 3 to 5 years of experience
Team player and interest in multidisciplinary work, willingness to acquire basic knowledge in other technical fields (mechanical and electrical engineering)
Good English skills at B2-C1 level
Good skills in Microsoft Suite
Solid knowledge in BIM Methodology (openBIM) and collaboration platforms (BIMCollab, etc.)
Solid software skills for structural engineering calculations (for ex. SOFiSTiK, TEKLA; ALLPLAN)
Good to have:
Knowledge of structural engineering in wastewater treatment plant design or similar
Basic to good German language skills
Very good English skills at C1-C2 level
Knowledge of German HOAI and / or Swiss SIA standards and EURO Codes
Autodesk REVIT skills and BIMCollab skills
Experience in BIM2Field Methodology
Already worked in the field of plant engineering of complex industrial plants such as for example wastewater treatment and acquired basic understanding of mechanical, biological, tertiary chemical and sludge treatment processes
