Role: Solutions Design Technician

Location: UK (hybrid 3 days minimum in the office)

Department: Customer Solutions and Services

Reports to: Solutions Design Manager

From owning the technical demo stage to supporting hardware scoping requirements, trade shows, and developing global experience centers, you’ll play a central role in shaping how the world experiences our technology. By collaborating with customers, internal departments, external third-party vendors, and strategic partners, you’ll turn our offerings into clearly articulated solutions that drive success, customer satisfaction and showcase our brand as the industry leader.

WHAT YOU ARE HERE TO DO

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Demonstrations & Client Experience: Provide technical support to the sales and solutions teams, creating and delivering best-in-class experiences for clients visiting our offices. Deliver demonstrations of the hardware, software, and workflows that the company sells. Take charge of the demonstration stage and its equipment, ensuring all existing hardware is maintained and in excellent working condition.Event & Trade Show Coordination: Assist in designing, preparing, and executing the company’s international trade show presence. Work with internal teams and external vendors on either our or partner booths to ensure the company is portrayed in the best possible light. Attend trade shows, providing technical and sales assistance while demonstrating our hardware and software. Lead company-hosted industry events at the London HQ, playing a key part in defining what these experiences will be like for our clients, friends, and partners.

  • Project Support & Collaboration: Assist the solutions and sales team in gathering client requirements, determining technical needs, and creating customized solutions for customer projects. Support the coordination of responses to ROMs and the creation of project scopes, timelines, and budgets. Contribute to SOWs to reflect the project scope, timelines, budget, and overarching designs as required.
  • Vendor & Partner Coordination: Work closely with external vendors, strategic partners, and key internal teams to source, integrate, and deploy the solutions designed. This might include collaborating with vendors on LED stages, camera tracking systems, and other immersive technologies.
  • Research & Development: Stay current with industry advancements, emerging immersive technologies, and best practices in live events, immersive experiences, virtual production, broadcast technology, LED stages, and real-time rendering. Assist in evaluating new tools and techniques to improve project outcomes.
  • Testing & Validation: Assist in testing and validating technology solutions to ensure they meet performance standards in line with Disguise’s delivery approach.

Experience:

  • Experience working on technical projects (from concept to completion) in theatre, live events, concerts, virtual production, immersive technologies, OR a related field
  • Experience creating system designs in CAD for the AV industry
  • Familiarity with at least 2 of the following; video engineering, audio-visual (AV) systems, projection, object and camera tracking systems, LED panels, networking and/or  real-time rendering technologies
  • Experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving for complex technical systems
  • Experience in 3D software such as Blender, Maya, Cinema4D, Unreal, Notch or Unity
  • Practical experience in maintenance, setup and operation of technical equipment on a stage or related environment including inventory management, equipment maintenance and ensuring operational readiness
  • Team-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing client needs.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including technicians, engineers, project managers, and creative professionals.
  • Experience in using Disguise would be a bonus, but not essential

Work Environment:

  • Ability for occasional travel to on-site customer meetings within EMEA for scoping, or other business needs as required (roughly 2-5 times a year)
  • Able to integrate with a flexible, hard working team. Eager to learn and adapt to a fast paced working environment.
  • Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required (roughly 1-2 times a year)
