About the role

Reporting directly to the CFO, the VP of Legal will lead our legal function and play a pivotal role in scaling the company. This role blends sharp legal expertise with pragmatic business acumen, guiding our leadership team through the complexities of commercial growth, compliance, and governance.

The VP of Legal is responsible for shaping our legal strategy, embedding scalable processes, and driving efficiency through automation. From high-volume SaaS contracts and data protection compliance to international corporate governance, this role requires someone who thrives in a PE-backed, fast-scaling SaaS environment and balances commercial speed with smart risk management.

What you’ll do

Commercial & GTM Support

  • Lead negotiations for customer contracts, SaaS agreements, and strategic partnerships.

  • Partner with Sales to accelerate deal cycles while ensuring appropriate risk management.

  • Oversee GDPR, DPAs, international data transfers, and SaaS compliance frameworks.

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Review and negotiate supplier and vendor agreements.

  • Standardize templates and streamline contract review processes.

Corporate & Governance Support

  • Manage corporate housekeeping across multiple European and overseas entities.

  • Handle KYC, UBO registers, and documentation for banks, investors, and regulators.

  • Coordinate with and manage external counsel.

Legal Operations & Efficiency

  • Drive automation and AI-enabled solutions for contract management.

  • Develop playbooks and self-service tools to empower commercial teams.

  • Implement scalable processes that future-proof the legal function.

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Lead and develop a high-performing legal team.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, CFO, CRO, and PE shareholders.

  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships across Sales, Finance, Product, and Customer Success.

The profile we’re looking for

  • Qualified lawyer with extensive in-house experience in SaaS (required).

  • Proven track record in a PE-backed or high-growth environment.

  • Deep knowledge of SaaS commercial contracts and data protection (GDPR, DPAs, international data transfers).

  • Experience supporting multi-jurisdictional operations (Europe, UK, US).

  • Fluent in English (Dutch, German, or French is a strong plus).

  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to grow and manage a legal team.

  • Pragmatic, solution-oriented, and commercially minded—you know how to enable growth.

  • Passion for automation, AI, and modern legal operations.

  • Excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
