Keeper Security is hiring a Senior Software Automation Engineer to join our Commander team, responsible for designing, developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and tooling that ensure the quality, reliability and security of our Commander CLI, SDKs and automation workflows. This is a 100% remote position with an opportunity for a hybrid schedule for candidates based in the El Dorado Hills, CA area.

About the Job

As a Senior Software Automation Engineer on the Commander team, you will develop automation frameworks, end-to-end test suites and validation tools that ensure Commander remains robust, scalable and secure for developers and DevOps teams. You will work closely with engineering, QA, security and product teams to define test strategies, enhance automation coverage and continuously improve the reliability of Commander’s SDKs and CLI features. In a senior capacity, you will also help guide test architecture decisions and mentor other engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and maintain automated test frameworks for Commander CLI and SDKs in Python, .NET and related integrations

  • Develop end-to-end, integration and system-level test suites that validate automation workflows and DevOps use cases

  • Implement test pipelines and automation in CI/CD environments to ensure consistent quality and rapid feedback

  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define testing requirements, acceptance criteria and automation strategies

  • Validate security, encryption, authentication and cross-platform functionality across Linux, Windows and macOS

  • Build automation tools that simulate real-world DevOps environments and enterprise integrations

  • Identify, diagnose and resolve complex issues related to reliability, performance or security

  • Perform code reviews, improve test documentation and promote automation best practices across the team

  • (Lead potential) Mentor teammates, influence automation architecture and support roadmap planning

  • 5+ years of experience in test automation or software development with a strong focus on automation

  • Proficiency in Python and experience automating .NET workloads or interacting with .NET SDKs

  • Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as PyTest, NUnit or similar

  • Strong understanding of CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins or Azure DevOps

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS (GovCloud experience a plus)

  • Knowledge of secure coding principles, encryption workflows and authentication models

  • Experience testing command-line tools, SDKs or developer-facing libraries

  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with experience validating distributed or complex systems

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Due to this role’s involvement working on GovCloud compliance requirements, qualified candidates must be a “U.S. Person”

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DevOps tooling such as Terraform, Ansible or Kubernetes

  • Prior contributions to automation frameworks or open-source test projects

  • Experience with secrets management, privileged access management or cybersecurity products

  • Cross-platform testing experience across Linux, Windows and macOS

  • Experience building load, performance or security-focused testing tools

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
