Reporting to the National Sales Director, The Regional VP is accountable for achieving aggressive life and annuity premium sales goals and will provide external wholesaling support to a select group of top P&C distributors focusing on field leadership and agencies.  The territory is CA, MT & ID.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary external wholesaler for a select group of top Property & Casualty distributors, with a focus on field leadership and agency engagement.

Drive life and annuity premium growth by executing strategic sales plans across the Pacific West region.

Manage all aspects of distributor relationships, including sales strategy, collaboration with Marketing, underwriting coordination, and case advocacy.

Conduct regular voice-to-voice and web-based meetings to maintain strong distributor engagement and support.

Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to promote brand visibility and deepen relationships.

Provide product and sales concept training to distributor partners, enhancing their ability to position and sell life and annuity solutions.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., underwriting, marketing, operations) to ensure seamless case management and distributor satisfaction.

Monitor regional performance metrics and provide feedback to leadership on trends, opportunities, and challenges.

Advocate for pending cases and assist in resolving complex issues to facilitate timely placement and client satisfaction.

Maintain a high level of product knowledge and stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive positioning.

Travel overnight at least 40% of the time to support in-person distributor meetings and events

Knowledge, Skills, Attributes

At a minimum the ideal candidate will possess:

·Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

·Superior sales and relationship building skills.

·3-5 years selling experience in Property and Casualty or life insurance

·Extensive understanding of life insurance products and related sales concepts.

·Sound technical literacy to include basic understanding of illustration software, Excel, and Power Point. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.

·FINRA Series 6 or 7 and state life and health licenses are preferred

Requirements

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be a highly motivated, organized team player who can demonstrate a proven track record of developing and successfully executing territory sales plans and achieving sales goals.

$100,000 - $100,000 a year

Protective’s targeted compensation for this position is $100k. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective’s total compensation package for employees.

This position also includes cash compensation as a part of a sales incentive plan (SIP).
