Quest Defense Systems and Solutions is seeking a highly experienced and self-motivated Embedded Software Verification and Validation Engineer to join our team. This project supports Verification & Validation (V&V) of the Flight Control System (FCS) software by executing and maintaining the High-Level Tests (HLTs) that validate system behavior across a wide range of FCS modes and mission-critical flight conditions.
This role is remote but will require onsite onboarding for 2 weeks with potential of additional travel as needed. Due to the nature of this role, US Citizenship is required.
Responsibilities may include:
Developing or revise Flight Control Computer software high level (requirements-based) test cases and seed scripts to generate bench test scripts and verification procedures, to the standard and level of coverage established by the existing test package.
Primarily writing out scripts using C# and occasionally in MATLAB for data post-processing
Coordinating with the cognizant designer(s) on the Bell staff to ensure full test coverage, correct expected results, and communication / disposition of test findings.
Executing the developed or modified tests in the System Integration Lab environment, both as part of the test development process and for regression purposes as required.
Reviewing test results and test time history data, during test development, regression runs, and to help debug software issues.
Identifying findings to the cognizant Bell designer(s) in instances where test outcomes do not align with requirements or with expected results.
Authoring and participating in formal reviews of test cases, procedures, and results.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
3+ years of experience with system level or high-level software requirements-based testing
Experience with Serena Dimensions or other configuration management system (Synergy, ClearCase/ClearQuest, etc.)
Experience doing requirements-based testing under DO-178B/C or other safety critical process standards.
Experience with C# scripting
A general understanding of control laws and redundancy management functionality in a flight control system
Familiarity with bench workflows, startup/shutdown sequencing, and log analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
Military aerospace industry experience or other embedded software development experience
FCS and Control Law (CLAW) domain knowledge is preferred but not required.
Experience with MATLAB and Simulink

$94,300—$114,700 USD
