Position Overview
GameRant is seeking a passionate, skilled, and highly knowledgeable Senior Gaming Journalist to join our editorial team. The ideal candidate is an experienced writer with a deep understanding of the gaming landscape, a strong editorial voice, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality, engaging content.
What We’re Looking For:
- Write high-quality features, op-eds, and exclusives with sharp angles and strong reader appeal.
- Track major gaming trends, announcements, updates, and community discussions to pitch relevant, timely story ideas.
- Collaborate with editors and fellow writers to refine pitches, improve structure, and develop standout coverage.
- Represent GameRant professionally when interacting with PR teams, developers, publishers, and industry partners.
Skills We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a journalist or writer in digital media.
- Deep knowledge of the gaming industry across major platforms (PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo).
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to craft clean, engaging, and well-researched stories.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, especially during breaking news moments.
- Familiarity with CMS platforms, SEO principles, Google Analytics, and standard newsroom workflows.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across a remote editorial team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience conducting interviews, attending digital/physical press events, or doing original reporting.
- Established PR contacts or familiarity with industry outreach cycles.
- Comfort writing both quick-turn news and more in-depth investigative or feature-length pieces.
