About the Role:
We’re on the lookout for a bright and enthusiastic Associate Data Engineer to join our growing team and help us turn raw data into valuable insights. If you have a solid foundation in data engineering principles and are eager to build your skills with dbt, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. You’ll play a key role in building and maintaining the data pipelines and models that power our organization’s analytics and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Data Modeling: Contribute to the design and implementation of well-structured data models using dbt, focusing on data accuracy and consistency across different data sources.
- Data Pipelines: Assist in developing and maintaining efficient data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into our data warehouse.
- dbt Development: Utilize dbt to develop reusable and maintainable data transformations, write tests, and contribute to documentation under guidance.
- Data Quality: Help implement data quality checks and monitoring processes to ensure the reliability of our data.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts and more senior team members to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Optimization: Learn and contribute to the optimization of data pipelines and models for better performance and scalability.
- Documentation: Assist in creating clear and understandable documentation for data pipelines, models, and processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in a Data Engineer or similar role, or relevant internships and projects.
- Solid proficiency in SQL (e.g., Snowflake, Google BigQuery) and Python.
- Good understanding of dbt and its core concepts.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
- Familiarity with basic data warehousing concepts and tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to learn quickly and work effectively both independently and within a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a bonus.
- Basic understanding of data governance concepts.
