Job description
The Center for Careers and Internships (CCI) is hiring two Outreach and Engagement Fellows for the 2024-2025 academic year! One Fellow will focus on supporting outreach to Posse and other scholar programs, and the other will lead efforts to boost early engagement with first- and second-year students. Both roles are great for students who enjoy helping peers, creating content, and being “in the know” about opportunities. These positions blend communications, peer outreach, and frontline support to connect Middlebury students with the people, programs, and tools that help them explore what’s next.
This position is compensated at the Level B rate on the Midd student wage scale: $14.43 - $14.86 per hour.
Core Responsibilities:
Engage peers through outreach: Represent CCI at tabling events, student org meetings, and scholar cohort programs (including Posse, XX and First@Midd). Lead brief tours and mini-presentations to introduce students to CCI.
Create compelling content: Write student stories, blog posts, and brief interviews for the CCI Digital Newsroom and newsletters. Collaborate on social media content for Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
Support digital campaigns and events: Help brainstorm, plan, and promote campus events, workshops, and themed outreach campaigns.
Model strong CCI usage: Demonstrate knowledge of tools like Handshake, resume guides, and drop-in hours. Show students how to make appointments and navigate career resources.
Provide operational support: Assist with project-based tasks as needed.
Who You Are:
A curious and friendly problem-solver with strong interpersonal skills
Comfortable speaking in front of groups or on camera
Strong writer and communicator with an eye for detail
Familiar with Instagram, LinkedIn, Canva, and/or short-form video platforms
Organized, dependable, and able to work independently
Enthusiastic about CCI’s mission and excited to help others connect with it
Commitment: 4⁄8 hours/week during the academic year for at least two consecutive semesters (preference given to students who can return)
Training: Paid training required in early fall
Location: Remote work
Eligibility: open to rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors in good academic standing

Student Employment Eligibility:
Unless restricted by certain visa status, all students with an active status for the semester are eligible for jobs on campus.
Students on leave or withdrawn are not eligible to work in student employment positions until the semester in which they return. If you are currently withdrawn or on leave you are eligible to be employed in staff positions.
Some may be restricted due to financial aid status. International students (non-resident aliens) may not work off campus unless they have applied for and received work authorization from the United States government. (An F-1 visa does not give work authorization.) Off campus work study positions are available only to U.S. citizens on financial aid with a federal work study component .
Student are not eligible to work remotely from International locations.
Hour Limitations:
All student employees are limited to working no more than 20 hours per week in on campus jobs during the academic year (this includes exam periods). The only exception is when there is a full week when school is not in session. Specifically: February recess, Spring recess, and full weeks of December or summer recess. During these time periods only, students can work up to 40 hours per week. International Students: Visa restrictions prohibit international students from exceeding 20 hours of work per academic calendar week.
