Client: City Municipality Located in Tampa Area
Title: Cloud Operations Engineer
Contract Paying - $50/Hr - $55/Hr - 6-month contract to hire with conversion salary of $108K
Work Authorization: USC or Green Card only
Location: State of Florida - Remote
Certifications:
- CJIS Certification
- At least one associate-level AWS certification
- Linux Certification (RHEL Admin preferred)
Experience:
- Must have 4-10 years of experience with a minimum of 2+ years of experience in AWS.
- Must have AWS EC2 (Amazon Linux - must, RedHat - must, Windows Server - highly desired) and ELB (Application and Network load balancer).
- AWS Storage and System Manager Services
- Must have patching and automation experience.
- Experience with each of the Systems Manager Node, Change Management, and Operations tools.
- Experience implementing AWS Cloud Monitoring and Alerting with CloudWatch, especially for EC2, ELB, EFS, EBS, and RDS.
- AWS Backup and Disaster Recovery implementation experience.
- Scripting experience in Python, Bash, or similar and proficient in using Git.
Desired Skills:
- Experience architecting enterprise-level cloud infrastructures on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Writing Infrastructure-as-Code using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Experience with Containers (ECS, EKS, Fargate, and Docker).
- Experience with AWS Networking concepts including but not limited to VPC, Subnet, Security Group, NACL, DNS, Transit Gateways.
- Strong knowledge of Control Tower, Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3, and IAM is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, provision, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure, including containers.
- Ensure the highest level of Cloud systems and infrastructure availability.
- Provides expert guidance and leadership to colleagues.
- Ensure critical systems are monitored, patched, and maintained.
- Migrate infrastructure with zero downtime to a highly available, scalable, secure Cloud solution.
- Build automations that include IaC through the DevOps Pipeline.
- Some after-hours weekend support may be required to maintain mission-critical integrations for some county organizations operating 24⁄7.
