We are looking for a Community Specialist to join our International Community team. This role is essential in building relationships with moderators, raising awareness of key programs, and delivering on-platform engagement that nurtures community growth.

This role is based in India and will primarily support our community-building efforts in Thailand, while also assisting with key operations in the Indian market.

As a Community Specialist, you will focus on empowering local moderators, bridging the gap between users and mods, and driving engagement initiatives that delight our community creators and power users. Your efforts will help create a vibrant ecosystem where moderators can thrive and local communities can flourish.

Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with local volunteer moderators to foster collaboration and trust, while driving initiatives that expand the number of local moderators and well-established communities in Thailand, and support indian operations where needed.
  • Plan and host engaging on- and off-platform events that energize power users and strengthen the sense of belonging within the community.
  • Develop a game plan to build a robust network of community creators around shared interests and key verticals.
  • Launch targeted initiatives to engage locally relevant demographics, onboard them to the platform, and position Reddit as the go-to destination for these communities.
  • Provide insights on the local moderator landscape and sentiment, identifying key trends and actionable steps to address challenges and seize opportunities for on- and off-platform engagement.
  • Create communication plans that highlight programs and initiatives aimed at bridging the gap between users and moderators, ensuring everyone’s voice is heard and valued.

What We Can Expect From You:

  • 1-3 years of experience in community management, or as a moderator or as a community builder on online platforms such as Reddit, Discord, Facebook Groups, etc.
  • Strong understanding of (country) culture, including current trends, interests, and nuances that shape community interactions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with local users and manage challenging relationships that may not be straightforward.
  • Curious with a creative mindset and a love for testing new ideas involving community creators, all while keeping an eye on delivering quality results.
  • Based in India with fluency in English; Thai proficiency preferred.
