The Dynamics 365 F&O Technical Architect will report to the Dynamics 365 F&O Manager and is responsible for playing a significant role in designing, developing, implementing, testing, and supporting the complete Dynamics Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environments. The Dynamics 365 Technical Architect role defines strategies and best practices for accomplishing viable automated solutions for complex business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Dynamics 365 ERP (Finance, Supply Chain Management & Commerce) according to functional specifications and gather requirements, as well as generate technical specifications.

  • Work with other members of the technical team, in addition to business users to design and create technical solutions that meet Microsoft best practices.

  • Troubleshoot errors and other technical issues for functional consultants and clients.

  • Own technical aspect of support tickets and work with Application administrator.

  • Own D365 F&O ISV software and integrations.

  • Perform peer code review for development work complete to ensure alignment and understanding.

  • Create proof-of-concepts and vet potential ISV integrations.

  • Conduct internal and business user training sessions.

  • Own project deliverables by ensuring delivery of quality deliverables, on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of D365FO architecture and extensibility model.
  • Expertise in X++, SQL programming languages. Working knowledge of .NET, C#, C++.
  • Strong experience with LCS and Azure DevOps features and functionalities.
  • Experienced in application lifecycle management (Code Merging, Code Deployments, etc…)
  • Ability to generalize solutions to be reusable.
  • Ability to design frameworks, establish efficient patterns.
  • Ability to lead a development sub-team (full-time and sub-contractor staff)
  • Ability to present various technical topics/solutions whenever required e.g. monthly meeting, meeting with business etc.
  • Proficient at developing and maintaining documentation e.g Test cases, LOE, TDD, SOPs (e.g. Developer’s guide, DB refresh policies).
  • Adhere to and follow our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.
  • Identify bottlenecks and design solutions to overcome.
  • Ability to utilize and implement automation.
  • Whenever asked, ability to lead status calls (SCRUM, etc…), and Provide status updates to Project Manager
  • Certifications – Pass one exam (MS D365 F&O or Power Platform or Azure) per year.

Preferred Qualifications - What Will Set You Apart

  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365: Technical Consultant Associate or equivalent.
  • BS Degree in Computer Information Systems or BS degree in a relevant business area is required.
  • 8 or more years’ experience using the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Platform (D365 F&O, D365 Supply Chain, Power apps/flow).
  • Previous experience with C# and/or .NET framework is strongly desired.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business need with the ability to establish and translate customer requirements into working code.
  • Proven ability to participate in software development projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met.
  • Full life cycle upgrade experience for Dynamics D365, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint Online, MS Platforms (Power BI, Power Apps, Flow, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools: Azure DevOps, Team Foundation Server or equivalent, Microsoft Project, Visio, and all Office Tools
  • Must be able to assess technical gaps in requirement specifications.

Travel requirements

  • Minimal Travel, as needed with advanced notice.

Working Conditions

  • Remote work when not traveling to site.
  • Able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to work on computer screen format for up to twelve (12) hours a day.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA.
