About the job
This position is needed to lead Twilio’s R&D and G&A global talent acquisition strategy, deliver best-in-class hiring outcomes, and evolve TA into a proactive, strategic partner to the business.
As Director, Global Talent Acquisition, you will drive a cohesive, forward-thinking talent strategy, oversee global operations, partner closely with C-Suite leaders and inspire a distributed TA team to attract and engage high-impact talent at all levels. You will champion our employer brand, deliver talent intelligence to leaders, and build seamless experiences for candidates and TA partners alike.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
- Develop the end-to-end talent acquisition strategy for three C-Suite members in partnership with HRBP, Workforce Planning and Finance for our R&D and G&A functions.
- Oversee all aspects of global recruiting driving quality, inclusivity, and operational excellence.
- Partner closely on global workforce planning and location strategy to optimize for talent availability and business priorities.
- Analyze and leverage talent data and trends in partnership with Talent Research & Intelligence to inform proactive, forward-looking hiring decisions.
- Collaborate with Employer Brand and Talent Marketing to attract top talent, amplify our employer value proposition, and ensure consistent, resonant messaging across regions.
- Build strong partnerships with business leadership, Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs), Total Rewards, D&I, People Analytics, and Finance to deliver integrated, business-driven talent solutions.
- Lead, coach, and develop a globally dispersed team, including Regional Talent Acquisition Managers and TA Partners, fostering collaboration, inclusion, and high performance.
- Continuously identify, recommend, and implement process improvements, leveraging AI and real-time data to enhance stakeholder and candidate experiences.
- Drive operational leadership by leading QBRs, reporting on outcomes and insights, and spearheading TA-wide initiatives to advance operational excellence.

*Required:
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in talent acquisition, workforce planning, or HR, with at least 4 years leading large, global teams.
- Proven track record developing and executing forward-thinking talent acquisition strategies in high-performing, complex organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted partnerships with business and HR leaders, and the ability to influence at all levels, including executive leadership.
- Strong data literacy; fluent in interpreting and leveraging talent analytics, market trends, and using AI/data-driven insights to shape hiring strategy.
- Deep expertise in driving inclusive, best-practice recruitment processes, and championing employer brand in multiple, diverse markets.
- Experience overseeing large-scale initiatives across global, distributed teams
- Exceptional communication and storyteller with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to coach, inspire, and grow teams; skilled in change leadership and leads with empathy, clarity, and purpose.
- Highly organized, resourceful, and thrives in environments with shifting priorities and high complexity.
Desired:
- Experience supporting global technology, SaaS, or high-growth companies.
- Familiarity with advanced recruiting technology stacks and AI-driven talent platforms.
Location
This role will be remote,but is not eligible to be hired in CA, CT, NJ, NY, PA, WA.
Travel
We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, approximately 15-20% travel is anticipated to help you connect in-person in a meaningful way.

Compensation
*Please note this role is open to candidates outside of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington D.C., and Washington State. The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only.
The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:
- Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont or Washington D.C. : $168,000 - $209,000.
- Based in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $177,000 - $222,000.
- Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $197,000 - $246,000.
- This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are generally eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
