Job description

About Pendulum:

Pendulum® is leading a revolution that is occurring around the world to improve physical and mental health by first understanding, then restoring and enhancing the human microbiome.

Studies have shown that our microbiome (the bacterial communities in and on our bodies) is linked to everything from metabolism and diabetes, to longevity, weight loss, healthy immune systems, cancer prevention, feelings of well-being, inflammatory bowel disease, and even healthy skin.  We have just scratched the surface on understanding the impact that our microbiome has on our lives. During early life we develop a diverse and balanced microbiome that plays a critical role in shaping our long-term health.  Over our lives, a combination of diet, lifestyle, antibiotics, and aging can decrease the effectiveness of our microbiome.

Pendulum recognized the enormous impact they could have on people’s lives if they were able to address the imbalances in the microbiome. To accomplish this, Pendulum created proprietary probiotic pipelines and a  unique discovery platform to identify key, novel bacterial strains and the prebiotics that feed them. The company has also built and developed the world’s first manufacturing technology to produce bacteria in an anaerobic (oxygen-free) environment at scale.

The medical probiotics that Pendulum has formulated have transformed the consumer probiotics market into a new category of therapeutic offerings that deliver the power and efficacy of a pharmaceutical with the safety and accessibility of a natural probiotic. Due to Pendulum’s explosive revenue and customer growth over the last two years, the company  earned a spot on Forbes Magazine’s exclusive “The Next Billion Dollar Startups” list.

Position Summary:

We’re looking for a Director of Motion & Post to build and lead our in-house video team and motion creative capabilities. This role is equal parts creative visionary and hands-on operator. You’ll shape the look, feel, and rhythm of our video storytelling—across brand campaigns, paid media, testimonials, and lifecycle marketing.

As a senior creative leader on the team, you will work cross-functionally to ensure every piece of content we ship is visually exceptional, strategically aligned, and built to perform. You’re passionate about using video to educate, inspire, and drive measurable impact, and you’re excited to scale a team that can deliver at speed and quality.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the execution of all motion content across performance marketing, website, product launches, email, and organic social.
  • Manage external production partners and freelancers.
  • Build scalable systems for post-production workflows, asset management, and creative QA.
  • Collaborate closely with Growth Marketing and Media teams to concept, test, and optimize high-performing video assets.
  • Own and evolve our visual language in motion—ensuring alignment with brand standards and pushing creative boundaries.
  • Support A/B testing efforts by creating multiple design variations for performance testing.
  • Partner with external agencies or freelancers as needed to scale creative output.
  • Champion experimentation and iterative development of video content based on performance data and channel insights.
  • Stay on the pulse of industry trends, platform best practices, and emerging technologies in video and animation.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in video/motion creative roles.
  • Deep expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects), DaVinci Resolve, and Figma. Knowledge of 3D workflows (Cinema 4D, Blender) is a plus.
  • Proven success creating performance-optimized video for Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and display networks.
  • Strong understanding of post-production pipelines, color grading, sound design, and compression/export settings for various platforms.
  • Excellent leadership and mentorship skills—able to inspire and grow a high-output creative team.
  • Experience directing talent and managing live-action shoots is a bonus.
  •  Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and a strong communicator who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Travel, Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  •  Light travel as needed for shoots or team off-sites.

Salary & Benefits

  • $120,000-$130,000
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision
  • Commuter Benefits
  • Life & STD Insurance
  • Company match on 401 (k)
  • Flexible Time Off (FTO)
  • Equity
