The role:
Reporting to our Vice President of Salon for the America’s region (United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand), you will lead the Region Capability and Talent Development Team in the implementation the Sales and Education Training strategy and use for all the Kao Salon Brands, Programs and the general strengthening of overall capabilities.
This requires a working understanding of how to implement Technical Capabilities (for the training and upskilling of hairdressers and trainers of hairdressers) and Sales Capabilities (for the training and upskilling of sales persons), using a combination of in-person and online facilitation to improve the working knowledge of application and techniques of the Goldwell, Kerasilk, KMS Hair and Oribe brands.
You will also work with the Design Teams to establish technical and sales training excellence standards for designated employees, distributors and their personnel, salon employees and their clients, independent contractors/artists and export countries to deliver the tools, information and excellence in service to our customers.

What you will do:
- Manage the Region Education Capability and Talent Development Team to deliver the best trainings, coaching and standards for the artist network, Academy staff, field Education teams in presentation skills, cutting and styling skills and hair color skills across the Region in collaboration with other Region and Design Team counterparts.
- Manage the Region Sales Capability and Talent Development Team to deliver excellence in trainings, implementation of selling skills for all levels of the sales organization, from new hires to field sales managers. This includes presentation skills, product knowledge, retail expertise and upskilling overall sales talent development.
- Manage the LMS platform content and, where required, the content development necessary to extend the reach of the Education and Sales Development training teams through online implementation and activity.
- Devise appropriate formats for field Sales materials in collaboration with Regional and Design Team counterparts.
- Devise a system of review, evaluation and coaching for accountability to guarantee the standards taught by training teams are practiced and in use.
- Manage and be accountable for the training budgets and expenses
- Periodically monitors trainings in-person and evaluates presentation skills of the Regional Education and Sales trainers and field sales manager to ensure professional standards of Kao are met and/or exceeded.
What you will need:
- College Degree or equivalent market experience/qualification preferred
- Minimum 10+ years field level experience as a licensed cosmetologist or salon consultant
- 5+ years experience in training/employee development management position
- Must have a knowledge of, technical and communication skills in the areas of hairdressing, selling, content development and evaluation skills
- Management experience of a sales and/or an education team, including utilization of coaching, assessment and influencing skills within that type of organization
- Excellence in conflict resolution and working within a matrix environment
- Expert knowledge in digital platform (Learning Management Systems & SAP) use is required
