Engineering Team Leader – Lighting
📍 Pittsburgh, PA (preferred) | 💼 $100K–$140K + Bonus | Team Size: 3–4 | Remote Possible
We are seeking an Engineering Team Leader to drive innovation and technical leadership across our North American lighting engineering operations. This player-coach role involves leading a small team, supporting product development, and ensuring world-class service for custom and standard lighting solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a 3–4 person engineering team focused on lighting solutions.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and global R&D to ensure product success and market fit.
- Produce lighting layouts, design documentation, and application drawings.
- Represent North American requirements in global product and compliance discussions.
- Support new product launches, quality improvements, and cost-efficiency initiatives.
- Partner with sales reps and specifiers to deliver best-in-class engineered solutions.
- Ensure products meet regulatory requirements and specifier expectations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering (preferred)
- Strong leadership and customer service mindset; mentoring experience ideal
- Proficient in SolidWorks (required); AGI32 or Dialux a plus
- Experience in commercial lighting or electrical product development
- Strategic thinker with strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Travel
- Monthly travel across North America for trade shows or client needs
- Occasional overseas travel (1–2 times/year)
