Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation, operations and optimization of CoreWeave’s global enterprise network infrastructure. This encompasses office and auxiliary network connectivity (users, IoT devices, physical security and building management systems). The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high availability, security, and performance across all sites globally while driving innovation and best practices in network architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN and Wireless across office, branch, and remote-access and out-of-band environments.
Develop and implement network security standards, protocols, and best practices to protect enterprise assets including, but not limited to stateful inspection/firewalls, ACLs, 802.1X, RADIUS, and NAC (Network Access Control), transport encryption (IPSec, MacSec), AAA (Authentication, Authorization and Accounting), IDS/IPS, NSM, control plane policing and general infrastructure hardening.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as security and workplace services, to align network strategies with business objectives.
Oversee network capacity planning, performance monitoring, and disaster recovery strategies.
Troubleshoot complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
Evaluate and recommend emerging campus/branch technologies to enhance network reliability, scalability, and efficiency (eg. SD-WAN, NFVs)
Develop and maintain documentation, including network diagrams, standard operating procedures, and best practices.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the team.
Work with vendors and service providers to manage contracts, SLAs, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
15+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering, with a strong focus on architecture, design, implementation, automation and troubleshooting large-scale global environments.
Extensive experience with networking technologies, including routing, switching, firewalls, load-balancers, VPNs, SD-WAN, and cloud networking.
Extensive experience administering enterprise-grade network operating systems at scale (such as ArubaOS, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE/IOS-XR/NX-OS, Juniper JunOS, Palo Alto Networks’ PanOS, NVIDIA Cumulus Linux, Meraki, Mist)
Strong knowledge of network security principles, including Zero Trust Networking & SASE (Secure Access Service Edge), NAC and segmentation.
Expert knowledge of Layer 2 / Switching Protocols such as 802.1d / Spanning Tree, Link Aggregation (LACP), Link Layer Discovery Protocols (LLDP), Ethernet, VLANs, VXLAN.
Expert knowledge of Layer 3 / Routing Protocols (IPv4/IPv6, BGP, EVPN, OSPF, VRFs)
Knowledge of Quality of Service (QoS) protocols and approaches, such as DSCP, Class-Based Weighted Fair Queuing (CBWFQ), Weighted Random Early Detection (WRED), Traffic Shaping, Traffic Policing - to prioritize and optimize voice/video traffic.
Experience administering enterprise DDI (DHCP, DNS, IPAM) solutions such as InfoBlox, BlueCat, NetBox.
Proficiency with automation frameworks and scripting languages such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, Bash/ZSH for network operations and management.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to lead incident resolution efforts.
Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring technical teams.
Experience building and leveraging data and analytics platforms such as Grafana, Elastic, Prometheus, Splunk, Kibana, Kentik and Tableau
Expert level industry certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent experience, is highly desirable.
Solid understanding of cable management / layer 1 standards (Fiber, Optics, Cat5/Cat6, etc)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in hybrid cloud environments and software-defined networking (SDN).
Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as ThousandEyes, Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, and PRTG for proactive network health assessment and troubleshooting.
Experience with network monitoring protocols such as SNMP, NetFlow, sFlow, IPFIX, and building REST APIs for network automation and telemetry.
Familiarity with Wireless Site Survey & RF Planning (eg. Ekahau, NetAlly, AirMagnet)
Work Environment:
Occasional travel may be required for on-site network implementations and troubleshooting.
24⁄7 availability for critical network incidents as needed.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $200,000-$250,000. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
