Job description
Sword Health is on a mission to free two billion people from pain.
With 67% of members achieving a pain-free life and a 70% reduction in surgery intent, at Sword, we are using AI Care to change lives, and save millions for our 25,000+ enterprise clients across three continents. Today, we hold the majority of industry patents, win 70% of competitive evaluations, and have raised more than $300 million from top venture firms like Founders Fund, Sapphire Ventures, General Catalyst, and Khosla Ventures.
Recognized as a Forbes Best Startup Employer in 2025, this award highlights our focus on being a destination for the best and brightest talent. Not only have we experienced unprecedented growth since our market debut in 2020, but we’ve also created a remarkable mission and value-driven environment that is loved by our growing team. With a recent valuation of $4 billion, we are in a phase of hyper growth and expansion, and we’re looking for individuals with passion, commitment, and energy to help us scale our global impact.
Joining Sword means committing to a set of core values, chief amongst them to “do it for the patients” every day, and to always “deliver more than expected” on behalf of our members and clients.
This is an opportunity for you to make a significant difference on a massive scale as you work alongside 1000+ (and growing!) talented colleagues, spanning three continents. Your charge? To help us build a pain-free world, powered by AI, enhanced by people — accessible to all.
The Sword Trainee Program is not about playing it safe, it’s where your career meets real-world impact. Over 12 months, you’ll be part of a global team using technology to solve human problems at scale, and you’ll do meaningful work from day one. You’ll build and question, and be pushed to think deeper and move faster. Here, you won’t just apply what you learned in school — you’ll stretch it, test it, and turn it into solutions. If you’re looking for purpose, ownership, and a steep learning curve, this is your launchpad. And if you’re ready to turn your potential into something that matters, we’re ready for you.
We’re looking for an FP&A Trainee to join our Finance team and support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities. This is a hands-on learning opportunity for a recent graduate to build strong foundations in business finance, working closely with analysts and business partners in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
FP&A is evolving from a traditional reporting function into a strategic business partner, supporting smarter and faster decision-making across the company. We manage core financial cycles like monthly reporting, quarterly forecasts, and long-range planning, while actively partnering with business units on revenue modeling, cost control, and gross margin improvement. The team also leads budgeting across marketing, supply chain, R&D, and corporate functions, and is driving forward automation and dashboarding to unlock scale and efficiency.
As an FP&A Trainee, you’ll join the Finance team to support core financial planning and analysis activities, contributing to reporting, forecasting, and performance monitoring. This is a hands-on learning opportunity within a fast-paced, data-driven environment, where you’ll collaborate closely with experienced analysts and gain a strong foundation in business finance.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and monthly reports;
- Support the analysis of performance against targets (e.g., variance analysis, trends);
- Help maintain and improve financial models and planning templates;
- Contribute to building and updating dashboards and internal reports;
- Help translate raw data into clear, actionable insights;
- Work closely with Finance Business Partners and other teams across the company;
- Participate in projects to streamline reporting and planning processes.
What you need to have:
- Recently completed a degree in Finance, Economics, Management, Accounting, or related areas;
- Strong interest in financial analysis, business operations, and strategy;
- Good skills in Excel or Google Sheets;
- Attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset;
- Fluent in English (written and spoken);
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
What we would love to see:
- Basic understanding of financial concepts such as budgeting, forecasting, and P&L;
- Curiosity about how companies scale and make data-driven decisions;
- Interest in automation, dashboards, or finance tools;
- Eagerness to grow in a high-growth, international environment.
To ensure you feel good solving a big Human problem, we offer:
- A stimulating, fast-paced environment with lots of room for creativity;
- A start of a bright future at a promising high-tech startup company;
- Access to our health and well-being program (digital therapist sessions);
- Learning opportunities with tailored mentoring.
- Remote or Hybrid work policy.
