A day in the life:

  • As a Junior Data Scientist within the AI/ML team at Power Digital, you’ll sit at the intersection of analytics and machine learning. This role is designed for someone who thrives in data exploration, has strong SQL fluency, and is eager to go beyond dashboards into predictive modeling, automation, and AI. You’ll play a critical role supporting our data science team while also helping internal and external teams make sense of large, complex data sets across our marketing, e-commerce, and media ecosystems.

You’ll work side-by-side with senior data scientists, analysts, engineers, and marketers to bring actionable insights and scalable models into production. Our team thrives on rapid experimentation, practical innovation, and real-world business impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced data exploration and analysis using SQL, Python, and other tools across eCommerce, media, and CRM datasets.
  • Partner with senior data scientists to scope, prototype, and refine ML models – from forecasting to classification to recommendation systems.
  • Translate ambiguous problems into structured analysis and communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support the creation of ML pipelines and automate recurring analysis to increase internal efficiency and speed to insight.
  • Contribute to internal PoVs (Proofs of Value) and small-scale AI experiments in partnership with product and engineering teams.
  • Maintain strong data hygiene and documentation practices to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
  • Collaborate in effectively communicating technical findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders to drive data-driven decision-making
  • Employ AI technologies to enhance and optimize business processes
  • Utilize and leverage Power Digital’s Nova ecosystem as it relates to your department

Role Requirements:

  • 1–2 years of experience working with SQL in production environments — you must be highly fluent navigating large relational databases.
  • Foundational understanding of machine learning concepts (regression, classification, clustering, feature engineering, etc.).
  • Comfort with Python or R for exploratory analysis and prototyping (experience with pandas, scikit-learn, or similar libraries is a plus).
  • Familiarity with data wrangling, API querying, and joining multiple data sources from disparate platforms (marketing, ecomm, web, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and ability to work independently with ambiguous tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially translating quantitative work into business-relevant narratives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields).

  • Speed and quality of SQL-based insights to unblock business questions.
  • Timely delivery and documentation of exploratory data analyses that inform model development.
  • Successful collaboration with senior DSs to deploy and test early-stage machine learning use cases.
  • Contribution to PoV initiatives that show measurable value or client impact.

  • Bring clarity and visibility to internal data questions by becoming a go-to SQL and analysis partner.
  • Help elevate our DS function from reactive requests to proactive solutions using repeatable, automated approaches.
  • Grow into a hybrid data scientist who combines analytical depth, coding skill, and product thinking to accelerate marketing performance.
