Job Description
The Marketing Program Manager will act as the Marketing lead on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) integrations and other strategic Marketing initiatives.
You will be responsible for the success of our acquisition integrations. As program manager you will be immersed in all aspects including compiling due diligence reports, crafting value creation plans, managing vendor contracts, owning data migration, and developing an integration playbook. You will liaise with senior leaders both internally and within the acquired company.
The role requires a thorough understanding of both insightsoftware and the acquired company’s marketing processes to integrate the companies with minimal disruption. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional M&A leads to drive program excellence.
Outside of M&A programs, you will source and lead strategic Marketing initiatives to improve processes and value creation for the department.
This role blends marketing strategy and technical capability, and requires exceptional attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- M&A program management and execution. Own Marketing’s responsibilities for M&A projects including, but not limited to, due diligence, value creation plans, budget, vendor contracts, knowledge transfer, process mapping, data migration, and user training.
- Develop and manage project scopes, timelines, and deliverables. Develop the playbook to improve future project efficiency and alignment.
- Thoroughly test and validate Marketing data from acquired systems such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Marketing Automation Platform (MAP) through multiple user acceptance testing (UAT) cycles
- Stakeholder management and driving alignment across a diverse range of teams including Integration Management, Sales Operations, Customer Success, IT/Data and Marketing
- Understand and communicate Marketing strategy with M&A teams
- Manage escalations and flag roadblocks early to stakeholders for mitigation
- Own regular check-ins to cover status updates, action items, roadblocks, and maintain alignment on launch/project priorities
- Establish a positive rapport with the acquired company’s Marketing stakeholders and guide them through the acquisition process (these may be individual contributors up to company founders).
- Meet with the acquired stakeholders for thorough knowledge transfer to process map their internal architecture in preparation for data migration/ETL
- Continuously QA and improve integration processes to drive efficiency – you are responsible for reducing the burden of M&A projects on Marketing stakeholders
- Regularly report to Marketing leadership and other stakeholders on project progress
- Conduct post-mortem after each project to identify improvements for the subsequent cycle
- Drive strategic Marketing initiatives outside of the acquisition scope to improve overall team processes and methodologies, such as building a process to fast-track marketing campaign generation
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years in marketing, marketing technology, business systems, revenue operations or similar role with preferential experience in M&A, system integrations, operations, platform implementation, or program/project management
- Marketing experience with a rapidly scaling technology/software business
- Strong program/project management skills with a proven track record leading strategic, cross-functional initiatives
- Executive presence and experience collaborating with, and presenting to, senior leadership
- Exceptional ability to handle multiple initiatives, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
The Ideal Candidate:
- You’re a chameleon. You effortlessly cycle from strategic conversations with leadership to technical details with the data team.
- You hunger for more. You have the innate desire to tinker, tweak, and improve and have a stubborn appetite for detail. You don’t need to be tasked – you find the areas of greatest opportunity.
- You’re a quick learner. You pick up new processes effortlessly and ask the right questions to get the core of what you need to know.
- You’re adaptable. One day you’re restructuring our Marketing Sharepoint and the next day you’re migrating Salesforce data from a $20M company. You approach it all with the same rigor.
- You create order out of chaos. M&A projects are massive. There’s tens of stakeholders and numerous processes to account for and you bring them together.
